Equinox

Thank you all for your kind words and support!

I found out about the Equinox comics a while ago when WoW.com started posting your latest additions. I went back and read all of them from start to finish, and it has easily become my favourite series.
-- Mistress Morbid

Feb 18
I love you!

I've been a fan of Equinox's adventures for some time (since around the time Graves started, I believe), and even after it ended, I would occasionally come back and re-read the archives to relive the story and characters I love so much. I'm really glad you decided to bring Equinox back for some more adventures in Northrend, which I'm also loving so far. Keep up the great work!
-- Sairan (Celaryn, Greymane server)

At first I wasn't sure whether I was gonna like the stories as screenshot stories usually aren't that well done, but as I kept reading more and more... Equinox grew on me. His pureness and how life really is on Azeroth really hits the heart hard, complete with Quatermass' betrayal, dealing with death and coping with getting older... bittersweet is his life in entirety. While he led a rough life, he led a good one. Have to say, you are a master of storytelling. Honestly I wish I could tell a well thought out and emotional story as the one that you have created.
-- StudioXD

I'd like to thank you for providing me with one of the better Sundays of recent memory as I looked through your stories about Equinox. Really, they are the best Warcraft fan fiction I have come across. Equinox is just... priceless and endearing to a fault.

I've really enjoyed your mighty adventures, but I have some elvish friends who have some trouble with the language. I thought I could translate your stories for them in a druidic language.
-- Thygore Peaceseeker

Feb 27
I've never liked WoW comics based on in-game screen shots very much, until I read your series. IMO this is one of the best ones on the web, and the story is very well done. The rise and fall of tension in the plot is really well thought out. Thank you for providing me with hours of fun, while I try and sneak some WoW playing time while I'm at work.

Oh hail Great Defender of the Horde. Wondering the plains I’ve found your lifeless body lying on the ground. I recognized who you where, as I’ve come across stories about you and Marvah, so as a last tribune I’ve transported your body back to Thunder Bluff. On my way to your last resting place I was followed by a caravan of people and animals that wanted to pay their last respects to you. It was a nice and sad ceremony. You will be missed.

Inspired by your actions, I’m now preparing myself to join the assault against Arthas. I swear to you we will get him down. FOR THE HORDE! FOR EQUINOX! May you rest in peace my friend.
-- Bihkehhe (Warrior on Azjol-Nerub server)

June 9
I remember having written you before to express my love of Equinox, but that was for Series 1 and 2. I just finished 3 (long overdue it would seem) and wanted to thank you again for such a unique and enriching story. The end brought a tear to my eye, and wrapped things up quite well. That all said, my thanks for creating and providing this to all of us WoW players/fans on the net. I'm truly appreciative, as I'm sure most readers are.
-- Ed P. (Kiritusbo on Draenor server)

Apr 15
All hail the Mightiest Defender of the Horde! Just wrote to tell I love your Equinox stories. I pop in from time to time to re-read them, and everytime they're as fun as the first time I read them. Love your work.
-- Lucidique (Erai on EU Dentarg server)

Hello! I have been reading since early 2005. I really enjoyed your work. Sometimes I even go to the places Marvah and Equinox died and Quartermass's grave to pray to show my respects to such noble heroes. When I had a bad day at school or work, I came home and your stories made my day a little better.  Thank you for the time you spent developing and sharing these awesome works of art for us all to enjoy!
-- Twoteeth, Master Hunter, Leader of the Brotherhood of Blades (Windrunner server)

Just wanted to write and say how much I appreciate the effort and work you put into the series. I play on Shadow Council myself and am really tempted to roll a Horde character now due to your stories. Great finish to the series, I can’t think of a better way to have ended the tale. Thanks again.
-- Nick (Asariu, Shadow Council server)

Dec 5
I wanted to email you after finishing the Graves series today. I've been following the comic for the last year or so -- arriving late while Sacrifices was still in production and reading on from there.

It's been a fun ride, and I am not sad to say I spent my lunch half-hour reading the last chapters. I am sad that our imaginary friends have gone on to other places, but I am not too proud to say I sniffled at work at the close of "Farewell to the Fuzzy". Thank you very much for making this and sharing it with us.
-- Amanda L. (Faizah, 70 Orc Hunter, Sisters of Elune server)

Nov 29
Thank you all for sharing your talent, your time and your energy by putting together such a wonderful and well-crafted story. You’ve made us laugh and cry over the last two and a half years and I know I’m not alone in saying that you will all be sorely missed -- by the WoW community and by we lucky few on the Shadow Council server.

Thank you all for giving us this great story! Thank you for all the times you all have waved as you were passing by! Thank you for your wit and kind words! Thank you for letting us sit on the side and watch when we’ve stumbled across you filming! And thank you for the personal trailers with the pies and seedless watermelon… oh wait.

It’s hard to say goodbye to people as amazing as the three of you. I wish you all the best. (… and here I thought saying goodbye to Kodosaurus was hard.)
-- Typheria

Nov 27
Thank you for sharing the adventures of Equinox, Marvah, and the entire cast.  Few things have ever been so able to move me to both laughter and tears. While it saddens me that the Fuzzy's adventures have come to a close, the final chapter was nothing short of beautiful. I hope you continue to write, as you are very adept at it.
-- Tim S.

Nov 27
As happened once before, you have thoroughly disappointed me as no other could. Of course, you achieved this by making me love something, and then taking it away. How could you! More importantly, thank you for this excellent work that I’ve enjoyed for quite some time, and kudos to you on a great job done. I hope that maybe you will prove the liar, AGAIN, and take up a series four some time in the future, but if not, all I ask is the site never goes down..
-- Craig S.

Nov 27
First of all, I'd like to say that these series are the best of the best. In all aspects, this is truly a great work of art, and it is a shame that it has to end. It is also quite disappointing that Equie and Marvah aren't able to produce offspring to carry on the storyline.

But nonetheless, Equinox's life stories have tickled my emotions. Rarely do I get spontaneous tears from reading stories, but the last few chapters of Equinox's life has really touched my heart. It's too bad that Equinox and Marvah, who are given Tauren burials,  have no graves I could visit in the world of Azeroth. For the very least I have clues to where Xanadu's (I have a really bad tongue when it comes to speaking Troll) grave is located.

Now on a more personal note, I'd like to express my deepest thanks for sharing Equinox with the rest of the world. I agree with that other letter saying you should pursue a career with this. Or you could just continue on with this as a hobby. Either way, do as you wish, and I wish you the best of luck on all of your future endeavors.
-- Jude C. (Mabuhay of Uldum)

Nov 26
I have just read the final episode of Graves and would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone concerned with the making of all three series. Absolutely marvellous doesn't really cover it but it's the best I can think of. I'm already missing Equie and Co. The best of luck to all of you in whatever project you decide on next. Many thanks for all the laughs and tears.
-- Moabraxus (EU Nordrassil server)

Nov 26
I'm sure multiple people have already asked, though I'd like to bring it up to encourage you to post something about it. Even if you do something that has nothing to do with WoW, it would be great to know about it as you're a very talented story writer. Thanks for sharing Equinox with us all.
-- Cassandra

Nov 25
I liked the ending. Although most of us knew that Equinox was going to die and his last days as a senile tauren with the same childlike spirit was actually tragic, the end makes one glad that the Warcraft Philosophy of Dying for Heroes comes into play. Ultimately the ending turned out to be rather happy with a positive tone. It's nice that ultimately Equinox and Marvah can now live together peacefully without the need for adventuring or such. It was sad to see Quatermass/Xana'du die at the end and the relationship between him and Equie was sort of touching (something akin to a big brother protecting the little sibling from the dangers of the world). Still it was a good run. It would have been interesting to see Equinox's adventures in Northrend, but that would be asking a bit too much, I guess. Still as many people have stated, thanks for the story...
-- Hans L.

Nov 24
I just wanted to say that the last episode was very touching. Nice job. I am hoping you do more stories in the future!
-- Izbit

Nov 24
Since midway through the first series I have waited attentively for your fabulous episodes. And now sadly it has all come to an end. Over the years, your humor had me wiping tears from my eyes all while trying to breath. There were moments when the tragic scenes had the same effect (especially the end of the 2nd part) and I just wanted to say thanks, thanks on behalf of me, my friends, and family who laugh, cried and cheered for Equinox, Marvah and Xana'du throughout that period. It was a great medium through which to tell your story and I am impressed quite frankly on how you delivered. Even though Equinox has passed away after missing his chance to do something great for the Horde again and reunited with Marvah in the second world I must beg you to do another series of some sort, maybe Celeste had a second child (Equinox's lost brother perhaps?) or just pick someone else entirely, but in the end it isn't my call and respect your decision (after all, there is such thing as "too much of a good thing").
-- Sebaz (Archimonde server) and Cryozen (Aggramar server)

Nov 24
I just finished reading your magnificent story-in-pictures, and I am not lying in the slightest when I say I was absolutely awed by what you did. The action, the drama, the humor... everything about it was dealt with in such magnificent skill and talent. I would without hesitation declare this the best bit of WoW fanworks ever. And yes, I am not ashamed to admit that the ending was so poignant and touching that I was left in tears. Thank you for such a marvelous story.
-- Joshua H.

Nov 24
Unfortunately, I had discovered Equie just a week before the last chapter. Went through all the seasons, and was just simply amazed and shocked at how original/well written it is. I'm currently passing the chapters to my friends, which are just as shocked as I was when I began to get into the story. You really are a unique talent in the fan-fiction community, I hope you continue, someway or the other, to create such memorable stories.
-- Rolanthas (EU Ravenholdt server)

Nov 24
Just wanted to say thanks for everything you guys brought with the Equinox stories. In terms of your ability to keep a reader poised at the edge of a seat, make us laugh until our insides hurt, or bust open the waterworks, you're geniuses. I was glad to have helped with them in what ways I could, but mostly I am glad to play on the same server as you guys, to have known you, and the chances to chat with you.

I would love to see Equinox and Co. around when the shores of Northrend are opened for business, especially since there may or may not be a Tauren death knight wandering the world soon after that happens. I have to confess to a slightly morbid curiosity on what would happen if Equinox crossed paths with that particular race/class combination. I imagine it would make for something interesting.  ;)

Thanks again for the efforts and frustrations to bring us all a very healthy dose of laughs, tears, and cheers. We appreciate it all. You certainly have proven that you don't need to be in an uber-raiding guild or have a high PvP rating to be considered 'Elite'.
-- Waltz

Nov 24
Thank you Equinox, Marvah, and Xana'du. Thank you for creating and sharing a truly amazing story with us over the past two years. We've enjoyed every single bit of it and went from laughter to tears on more than one occasion. We wish you all the best in the future!
-- Ad and Yolanda

Nov 24
I've just read the last episode with, well, tears in my eyes. If you ever want to make more storys like that, sure do. :)
-- Tom

Nov 23
You have five very big fans in Marlinton, WV. I'm 35. My daughter is 11 and her three friends are 13, 12, and 5 years old. We've made a point to read every new episode as they come out. We all play WoW of course. But the sense of humor, heroism, innocence, and just emotional content in your stories is just great, regardless of the setting. Good JOB! You've made us all cry a few times now. All five of us will always remember Equinox, Marvah, and Quatermass.
Sincere thanks and congratulations for such a wonderful job,
-- Si

P.S. Me and the kids always have a blast trying to figure out how you capture some of your screen shots. The kids are crazy about creating dramatic screen shots so they really love to think about how you might have created certain effects.

Nov 23
I really loved the new series, just finished reading the last two episodes with tears in my eyes (firstly because Xana'du died, and then because, well, everyone died). As I mentioned in my earlier letters, Xana'du/Quatermass has always been my favorite. I missed him in the last scene, but assumed he was somewhere "living" happily with his parents. Again, thank you for making me laugh and cry.
-- Mahawkee Silverhoof, "Guild Mommy" of Edge of Honor (Feathermoon server)

Nov 23
You should also have said "bring Kleenex".  Thanks again for an amazing story.
-- Tils (Alexstrasza server)

Nov 23
I just wanted to say thanks for writing your comic, I've enjoyed reading it all from start to finish over the last 2 years. :)
-- Scott

Nov 23
You said we should take a snack when reading the last chapter. I should have
taken a box of tissues! Great story. Great series. All of them. And skillfully presented. Thanks and I wish you well.
-- Nikos

Nov 23
I have read every single story in you series. The last one "Farewell to the Fuzzy" almost had me in tears. I just started reading this series about two months ago. I can't believe you're not continuing, but I guess you can't now that Equinox is dead. But I wish he was still alive. I have also read through your timeline. I just love everything about it.

Greatest thanks from Ben. An eager Equinox fan from Australia (yet I play on European servers since I lived in Denmark when I bought the game). But if you ever play in Europe be sure to watch for a paladin named Zchlade (Alliance) because that's me :))
-- Ben

Nov 22
I read this series when it was three quarters of the way through the first season, and I've loved it ever since. Your storywriting abilities are mind-blowing, and I'd suggest you try and take it up as a serious career assuming you haven't yet. Even though it's an online game, you still manage to make people muster affection for your characters. Your abilities can make them see past that. This goes to your cast and crew as well: Over the course of the series you've all worked brilliantly. I wish you'd keep it up but Graves appears to be the end of it. Good luck to all of you.
-- Vogen (Dark Iron server)

Nov 15
Just want to say, I really enjoy what you've done. I'm an avid WoW player and enjoy reading and watching the work of those with the talent to come up with new and original ways to use the game. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to future works.
-- Tyron R.

Nov 9
On my server I made an Equinox whole for myself. His name's Equifox because
Equinox wasnt allowed as a name. I am planning to make a guild called "The Equinoxes" with your kitty tabard. Ho ho!
-- Kiltom X

Nov 5
All the best to you, Marvah, Quatermass, and all your other friends and fuzzies. Looking forward to the continuation of the new series, it's really looking good and you've been pulling on the old heart strings already!
-- Dumazabryk/Fanghorns

Nov 3
Long time reader, First time writer. I highly enjoy the comic. I find it highly entertaining and emotional. I have seen in your timeline that you have already illustrated the later days of the cast. Presumably since Wrath of the Lich King is not out, "filming" on Northrend is not too much of an option. Still, it'll be interesting to see your vision displayed as the story heads into the climax.
-- Hans

Oct 25
Something has been nagging at me since Equinox learned he could communicate with the fuzzies. Can Equinox chat with a druid in shapeshift form? Just wondering because my main is a druid and I thought that would be nifty.
-- Kyo (Dragonblight server)

MARVAH RESPONDS: Equie's power is a strange side effect of the neurological damage he's suffered. (That's why Malfurion referred to him gaining it "through non-magical means".) Therefore, he is unable to speak with the magically-induced druid forms.

Oct 9
I've been reading your comic for quite a while now and it just keeps getting better and better. One thing is bugging me though: We've never seen Marvah's eyes, and so it is difficult to really judge her mood/feelings. It would make a great ending for the series to see her eyes -- specially because the four main eye types in WoW are: stone cold, hate-filled, stoic/knowledgeable/old, and compassionate. I have a feeling/idea on how the series is going to end, but in the end you might surprise me. Besides, showing Marvah's eyes could be a great way to express her perception on the world she helped her whole life.
Love your work,
-- Mireigi - Emeriss (Night Elf Rogue)

Oct 2
I made a dedication guild called "Knights of the Equinox" with your kitten tabard. Everyone loves it.
-- Hatuo (Sentinels server)

Oct 1
Your new series, it's awesome! Love the storyline, as always. And since you broke out from using only the in-game speech bubbles, I really thought that gave you more flexibility with how you fashion dialogue, and therefore, can focus more on acting (and ease of shooting too!). I'm really expecting a lot of great things from this series, and so far, my expectations have been met. One last thing: all of you should keep on rockin'! ;)
-- Jude C. aka Mabuhay/Zygus

Sept 29
As an avid reader of your comic...thing, I would like to give thanks to all your good stories. You made me laugh out of my chair. Anyway, people always ask about your armor and, well, as a long time fan I got the heavy mithril and ornate armor and people were amazed how awesome I looked. (I made the worst ever idea of being a dwarf =P but I still look cool thanks to you.).
-- Hatuo

Sept 24
Long time player on Shadow Council. Good to see you doing your comics again. Keep up the good work. It will be sad to see your comics come to an end.
-- Micen Farock

Sept 22
It is I, your loyal fan... Well, ugh... Loyal Fan #156! Anyway, I've recently come across your third series and it has allowed me to admit my own power -- I too can speak to other creatures. Or, well... Inanimate Objects, Mugs of Ale to be precise! Yes, get a few kegs of Thunderbew in my gut and I can understand the language of Ale. I am indeed the pinnacle of Pyrewood Village! So you and I are much alike... Except, y'know, I can actually speak too... Come to think about it, the language of Ale is kinda strange. They always seem to ask for me to drink them...
-- Bernado (EU Argent Dawn server)

Sept 13
I would just like to say I am really enjoying the third installment very much. Thank you for deciding to continue the story. It was well worth the wait. Since I have been reading your story, I have wanted to play a Tauren character.
-- Troy

Sept 6
I was a long time player on Shadow Council. I played for about three years. During that time I got to know your characters, read all the stories, and even saw Equie in person. (It was the opening of the Scarab Wall)  I just wanted to drop you a short email. Once again, Thank You and I'm looking forward to the end of the series (unfortunately). Keep up the great work.
-- Jonathan (Paletz of the Azeroth Outsiders)

Aug 30
Thank you for giving us more stories of Equinox and Co.! I've loved reading about Equinox since I first saw your comics about him in The Nifty. Keep up the good work, and know that you're loved all over the world!
-- Mike (EU Moonglade server)

Aug 24
Just saw the start of Series Three and I gotta say, you haven't lost any of your strengths, in particular very touching and emotional storytelling and an excellent eye for imagery. I definately look forward to the rest..
-- Mikoto

Aug 24
Thanks for continuing the series! I love it!
-- Nikos

Aug 18
Just started reading the third series, and can't wait for the new episodes. I like the way you started with the blood elfs and spirit of the warrior. :) Really like your comic. Keep up the good work. :)

Aug 17
Equinox and Marvah, again you grace us with great stories and great images. Looking forward to the whole season as it unfolds. Thanks again.
-- David L.

Aug 1
I just started reading Equinox and I had to let you know how much I am enjoying it. Your stories warm the soul and are like  a breath of fresh air. I must mention Series 1, Episode 14, "Equinox Finds His Mom Again". The ending completely threw me and left a lump in my throat. Keep up the good work!
-- Bond Y.

June 28
I just spent the last couple days reading through Equinox, and I loved it!

May 12
I should have written long ago, since I stumbled upon your work long before Series Two was printed. I just wanted to congratulate you for the fabulous work. It has made me laugh and cry, cheer and sigh. I can't wait until Series Three comes out. I have also looked through the Director's Commentary and once again, wish to congratulate you for the work put into the story. There are many things that I would have never noticed had I not looked it over. There is a lot mroe depth than I thought there to be. Cheers to all involved!
-- Kalinthias the Grey (Feathermoon server)

May 3
Just wanted to say hello and thanks for a great story. I really enjoy reading them. I am sad to hear the new series is being pushed back, but I look forward to seeing the new stories when they come out.
-- Troy

Apr 25
I just finished reading Series Two for the first time tonight, and I felt inspired to write to you. I want to say thanks for taking the time to put together something as beautiful and creative as these stories. I've really grown fond of all the characters -- Marvah, Quatermass, and of course Equinox -- as I've read, and I look forward to the third series with great anticipation. Your narratives are compelling and you have an amazing talent for choosing just the right screenshots to tell your story. I've been so inspired by you that I hope to begin working on my own series of half narrative/half screenshot stories. Keep up the great work, and thank you again for sharing your gift with all of us!
-- Blightfire (Gurubashi server)

Apr 20
Man, these comics are so damn awesome! It's a grim comic version of WoW with its own twist. Rarely do books or movies actually make me feel compassion towards the characters, but we've all seen Equie grow and stuff, really bonds you to him. If you ever make a book, notify me lad. I'll be sure to buy it.
-- Orochi

Apr 18
Hey, I'm a level 70 Tauren warrior. Saw all your comics and I'm so inspired, I'm going to make my own comics.
-- Dungeonlord (EU Kul'Tiras server)

Your creativity and efforts will always be wholeheartedly appreciated and I hope they remain accessible on the internet so that I can continue to reread and share them with others.  Thank you, Marvah, Quartermass, and all your supporting cast and crew
-- Tenaya (Agent Dawn server)

Jan 15
I have enjoyed your stories very much. I certainly hope you are able to continue with more Adventure Stories. Know that you both hold a special place in my heart. You have a talent for enjoyable tales and you are characters that I truly care about. Well done.
-- Sara (Thorium Brotherhood server)

Jan 14
Hey there, I've been a fan of the comic for a good two and a half years, and I recently have been contemplating making a similar screenshot comic!
With great hordiness honor,

Hello, Gruffersten! The weather is nice in Mulgore these days, and I've heard the watermelon season is coming soon. Big watermelon wishes to you! But now to the serious part. I've heard you're considering writing a third part to the series. I seriously hope this is true. I know you're still debating it, but I WON'T take no as an answer. Got it? :D
-- Burico, 20 Creepy Mage, Creepyville (Misha server)

Jan 3
If you're even considering another series, please make it. Your stories have brought us to tears and back and have proven to be a valuable source of entertainment. Equinox and Marvah have remained treasured characters in my heart, And probably everyone else's too. So please, please continue the adventures. I miss them already...

What can I say apart from, PLZ PLZ PLZ release a Series Three. I love the first two and read them often.
-- Jarvis

Dec 27
I've been following the Equinox adventure story ever since the very first episode. I think you did a fantastic job in making the two series. I laughed and cried (well, I cried inside since I am a dude) with each new episode. The plot is intriguing, filled with twists and turns, good character development and superb pacing of the storyline. I was saddened when you announced Sacrifices will be the end of the Equinox series. I feel that unlike most of the Hollywood movies, Equinox's story is the one that need more sequels. Now I see our beloved Defender of the Horde might pick up his sword again and come back to action, I just can't wait. So please, don't just tease us, do it for your legion of fans; and most important, do it for Equinox, he is too young to retire just yet (heck, even Rocky came back).
-- Jerry

Dec 17
I was going to write a long, eloquent-sounding letter to express how much I appreciate the story that you've taken me and the rest of your readers on and how you've combined humor and drama into something really special and how I'm saddened that the story seems like it's over. Instead I'll just say, Thanks for everything. (And here's hoping there's more.)
-- John (Laughing Skull server)

Dec 17
Thank you for all the work you have put into the Equinox series, I hope they have been as much fun for you to make as they are for us to read. The characters you have created have really taken on convincing personalities with your clever storytelling and its a pleasure to see them develop from story to story. I am still going slowly through the episodes a few a day because I know all too soon I will run out of them.
-- Stonebear the Druid

Dec 17
Good story. Can't wait for the next one. Please continue to make this comic. Thanks.
-- John S.

Dec 16
This is my very first fan-mail of any kind. I first saw a link to your stories in the forums of my guild. The first thing that caught my eye was the name of the main character. Equinox is also a guildleader in my Alliance guild. A Night Elf (the irony). So, I started reading your stories. And I was surprised at how immensely clever the humor was, and the characters were so... alive. And then, as I read on, the stories became more serious, and yet had that wonderful humor I was getting addicted to. The twists in the stories, the sadness, the betrayal, the redemption. It was all so wonderfully written and portrayed. Considering the limited  tools you had at your disposal to create such a wonderful "comic" I am extremely impressed with it.

You have made the last two days (Yes, I came late to the wonder that was Equinox) of my life a jumble of laughter, sadness, anger and even a tearful moment. You deserve a prize of some sort. Some kind of real acknowledgment. If I can find some way of creating a Real Life token of appreciation, I will. I can't really think of much more to say without this becoming a meaningless babble, but I must say one thing, just once more: You have made two of my days an adventure indeed!
-- Arnt I.

Dec 14
Hi, I just wanted to say that I really loved your epic tale, and I hope you guys make one more for The Burning Crusade. Very good guys. Thanks for this.
-- G.S.

Dec 5
You people have a wonderful gift and I am truly thankful that you saw fit to share it with us all in bringing us Equinox: The Nifty and Equinox: Sacrifices.

I first stumbled across the series, as I am sure many others did, when it was advertised on WoW's Community Spotlight. It hasn't been until now that I felt moved to write to you. I must say that I was very delighted with the Sacrifices episode "The Emissaries". Particularly with the scene where Equinox discovers the poor unfortunate Tauren in the Apothecary Quarter of Undercity. I wanted to lay the smackdown on that Forsaken "doctor" a few times myself.

I'm extremely happy that Equinox has finally become that which he always sought to be, the Defender of the Horde. But I am also saddened that this seems to mark the end of his adventures.

It was good to see that Quatermass began the long arduous road to redemption, never an easy thing to do.

All in all, I think a heartfelt "Hurrah!" is in order for the three of you. May you never fall to the Scourge!
-- Mazumorr

Dec 5
I have NEVER read a comic or story that has evoked happiness, excitement, dismay and sadness in me, quite often I'm considered a more or less emotionless git. But your comic was something new, something good. And I'm proud to have read it; hell I don't even know you but I'm proud of you for making it. I realise the Story of Equinox has come to a close, more or less, but I sincerely hope you have something else on the horizon, comic or otherwise, because I'm sure as hell eager to read it.
-- Shayden (EU Stormreaver server)

Dec 4
I recently stumbled across this amazing comic by accident (i.e. I found a link to it on the WoW-Europe site), but it caught my attention right from the start. I began reading it, and right from the very first story I was hooked on it. I read through all the stories in two days. I just LOVE the characters, especially Equie of course. :) I admire his loyalty, simplicity, good heart... everything about him. The story has made me sad, happy, laugh, cry, and really FEEL with the characters. That's why I was especially sad to read that you might not do any more stories. The stories of Equie and his friends are quite simply put the BEST WoW stories I've ever seen! I really hope, with all of my heart, that you guys will continue to write more about the amazing adventures of Equinox and his friends. Your stories have really inspired me, and made it even more fun to play the wonderful game of WoW. I hope this isn't the last we'll see of Equinox, Marvah and Quatermass. Love you all!

Hi Furriest of the Furries. Today I've read your story for the first time. Can only say one thing: It's a hell of a good story. It really touched me. It was a nice adventure. Like the work you did. Congrats.

I had to write to say I had just finished reading both series after finding them by accident, but one of the happiest and most rewarding accidents ever.

As soon as I realised how much I enjoyed reading a few parts of "Equinox Gets Stranded" I had to start over from the very beginning. At first I was all grins and chuckles (yes I found myself going "Ho ho" once or twice since) at just how a wonderfully humerous and good person Equinox is. Then I was moved by his simple dedication and loyalty. And in the end I felt so sad for him and again happy too that he finaly found his place, acceptance, and love, among those he would never once think to abandon. Something we can all dream and hope for.

I'm new to the ways of the Tauren, slowly climbing the long ladder as a Druid, and sometimes the obstacles before me seem overwhelming... But now when I feel I can't go on, I can turn to Equinox's own adventures and look to him as inspiration. He would never give up.

I shared my find with someone close to me (a "Scrunchy" of my own), who often joins me and helps me on my path as a Tauren too. I'm glad I did for she too has enjoyed the stories as much as I.

Equinox made me smile, made me laugh out loud, made me empathize and feel, and made me cry. I wish you all lots of joy and wonder, may your melons never come with seeds.

Late September (after the end of Sacrifices)

Dear Equinox, Marvah, and Quatermass,

I've been reading Equinox: Defender of the Horde since its mention on the WoW Web site. Thank you for taking the time and energy to weave two wonderful stories that were suspenseful, touching, hilarious, and poignant in turns. The characters were so well developed, and every single one of them "grew" immensely throughout the course of the two series. I'm an editor (nonfiction), and although writing fiction isn't my forte, I found myself inspired by your stories. So I decided to do something of my own.

Thank you for all the good reading and the inspiration. I wish you the best of luck -- and plenty of seedless watermelon!

I just wanted to tell you that Equinox is quite possibly the most depressing comic I've ever read in my life. I can't even tell you how many times you've made me cry. As such, its also quite possibly the best comic I've ever read. I love all the characters so much and have been a huge fan ever since the day it got recommended on the World of Warcraft website.

Tiff

----------

I have been wanting to write you for a while. I first joined Equinox on his adventures when the World of Warcraft linked it the first time. I was hooked right away. You have an amazing gift for storytelling. I hope you continue to use your creativity in some way and offer it to all of us in the future.

Thank you for everything,
Art

----------

Like many others, I had a series of mixed emotions when I read the finale of your series. There's a certain satisfied joy to see how things have ended up for our beloved Equinox and his lovely bride Marvah. Even grumpy ole Quartermass (I mean Xana'du). I was nothing but floored by the care, thought, and effort you all went through to get the shots for your series and can understand the emotional drain that would come with such precision. Nonetheless, I have a selfish side of me that hopes that some how, some way, we'll see more of Equinox and his adventures in the future. Regardless, I occasionally am privileged enough to run in a pug with you on Shadow Council and that always makes me smile. And I never run around Thunder Bluff without saying "Ho Ho!" to myself.

Thank you for sharing your imagination with us!

I just wanted to express my appreciation again for your wonderful stories and RP on Shadow Council. I have read the Tales of Equinox from his beginnings and laughed and cried through them all. My dearest treasure is a note I have stored in my bank from Equinox (as delivered by the Postmaster) thanking me for my congratulations when Equinox reached Level 60.

You have a great talent. I know someone as gifted as you both will continue to use your talents in the future and I hope I am fortunate enough to again enjoy the creations of the people behind Equinox and Marvah in whatever form they come in.

Greetings Equinox,

Your tale was a great one, as the rest of your days shall be. Believe me. I'm a druid. I got a vision from the hippie-drugs and everything. Not the point!

Good luck in your defense of the Horde, and of all Tauren. Know that your tale will be retold, to any who will listen, to the young and old alike. Your battles, for a short time, are over. Now is a time of peace! A time for children, perhaps.

Ignoring the biological issues involved in mating with a troll... Considering your past, I think you should adopt. You and your wife would be good parents, I think...

Haha, look at me rambling. What was to be a simple thank you has turned into an advice letter.

Good luck, Defender of the Horde. You helped us even when the right choice wasn't clear.

Hopefully you will take it easy on Arthas.

Always Watching,
Ambelen, Tauren Druid (Scarlet Crusade server)

Thank you. And Goodbye.

To Equinox, Marvah, and Quatermass,

I just wanted to say thanks for all the stories and bringing a bit of cheer and enjoyment to our server. Your stories have been one of the few things that has kept me on Shadow Council over the past months. I'm glad to have known you, worked with you, and I'm honored to call myself a fan.

Many thanks!

I love these stories. They always have such happy bittersweet endings that actually get me to the point of sniffles in real life (yay for being a sap about happy endings). I'll miss Equie. Good luck in your adventures wherever they take you. Thank you once again for the beautiful tale you have woven.

All things come to an end, don't they? But your story had an end that was as good as the beginning, quite a deed. I really enjoyed reading your stories, your mix of comedy and drama is quite entertaining. I didn't shed a tear, but your stories made me cry on the inside, but they also made me laugh. I wish you good luck, and to Marvah too, in the future, and may the eternal moon shine over you both!

Figures, right? Before Sacrifices was finished, I couldn't wait to comment on it. Now that it is, I'm not entirely certain what to say. Not only are you a good writer, your ability to combine your story with images is astounding. To add to that, your images have been well made from the start and only got better all the way up until the end.

I also admire your dedication and tenacity at getting it done, despite the various difficulties. I'm amazed your fellow WoW players on Shadow Council were so cooperative in assisting you, even going so far as to swap guilds when shots required it. I have to extend my admiration to all those people who assisted you, especially Marvah and Quatermass. Not only am I astounded that you all worked together to contribute to the project, but that you did so wonderfully. Congratulations to all of you for a job well done.

Sacrifices was undoubtably darker than The Nifty, yet you retained the sweetness and charm that originally made Equinox great. The only noticable change was done during the course of The Nifty. Perhaps that's what I like about him the most. Even as the story grew darker, even with a not-so-wonderful childhood, he remains quite cheery and optimistic and even innocent despite all that's thrown at him. If there's one kind of character
I admire it's those who continue to fight for what's really good in life and in people despite all of the pain and suffering that can exist around us. The fact he remains lovable and good at heart in the face of adversity I think makes him one of the strongest heroes I've seen in Azeroth.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to enjoy your work. I hope the site remains open for some time to come and others can have that same opportunity.

Very well done to all of you who created this story and the one before. I found them both humorous and moving.

Good luck with growing your watermelons.

It seems that I just can't keep myself restrained from writing you a letter yet again! The end of Sacrifices and the Equinox and Friends webcomic is a bitter one for me indeed. From nearly choking on whatever I may be eating at the moment to bawling in sheer sorrow, Equie, Marvah, Quatermass, and the many denizens of Azeroth who contributed to these tales made my life all the brighter. I shall wander the plains of Mulgore for the time being... perhaps our paths will cross again? If so, I'll be sure to keep a fair store of seedless watermelons at paw!

Hey Equie, Marvah and Quartermass! Long time reader, first time writer. Anyway, this is Zakiyah the Troll Hunter from the server Shadowsong. Anyway I wanna say congrats. Your stories always brought a smile to my face and choked me up, espically in a few scenes from Sacrifices. "...and then I gave him the only thing he ever really needed.... a little encouragement." One of your best lines ever, perhaps that's what anyone ever really needs. Ok, well I'm just rambling now, so I hope that your watermelon farm will grow the largest watermelons in all of Azeroth! I really hope that you do somthing really cool like that soon. :) Hail! Equinox Gruffersten! Defender of the Horde! Fuzziest of the Fuzzies! and Conquerer of Darnassus!

Your #(insert number 100-10,000 here) fan!
Zakiyah the Troll Hunter of Shadowsong and Sark the Human Rogue of Sentinels!

P.S. Your comics will forever be in my memory and will always bring a smile to anyone who knows something about World of Warcraft.

I just want to say seen them all, but the ending was amazing of Sacrifices. I have to admit it made me cry a little. You guys are the greatest of the greaties! You've inspired me a lot now to pursue my dream of making a living of playing WoW. LOL

Well, I just want to say I will always remember you guys no matter what happens. I hope there will be more stories.

Hi there. I'm a World of Warcraft player. And even when I wasn't playing WoW I was still reading your comics. What can I say about them? Let's start with the humour: You made me laugh ALWAYS, with no exception, with every single little thing Equie said. About the story, I have to admit I didn't expect such an intricate storyline for Sacrifices, or for the first series for that matter. In the second series, you made me laugh and feel sad almost at the same time, and I loved the comics, being barely able to wait for each to come out.

All in all, thank you for creating this wonderful thing. Every time I read it, it made my day, and it will still do so after I read it again.

Sincerely yours,
Androsh, Dwarven Warrior (Shadow Council server)

----------

I only just started reading your comics. And I really do think they're great! I love the storyline, and Equinox is just amazing. I really don't want you to stop writing (I'll give you a watermelon if you don't). But it is after all, your choice. I even seen you in Ratchet! You were riding Kodosaurus Rex.

Anivaral (Shadow Council server)

----------

Hello Equie, Marvah, and Quatermass,

I'm sad to know that this was the last episode of your webcomic... you made me laugh and cry, and sometimes both at the same time... I'm also happy that, in the end, things turned out rather well for Quatermass, who has always been my favorite. Thank you for creating such a wonderful story! May the Earthmother bless you.

Mahawkee (Feathermoon server)

Dear Equinox,

Know that your story has brought glory to all Tauren and people of the Horde. I will miss reading about your stories, but I know it's your time to rest. May your life with Marvah be forever fruitful and may your stomach be always full (of seedless watermelon).

FOR THE HORDE!

Malasangre, Undead Rogue

((Great ending, awesome achievement. Thanks for the great story.

Equinox is truly one of the best things to come out of Warcraft, and as sad as I am to see it ending I am so incredibly grateful for to you for sharing your work with us. You made me laugh, you damn near made me cry on several occasions, and you told one hell of a story.

Thank you,

Hello Equie, this is Jude C. once again, wrote to you once on March 4th, now I am writing yet another letter of appreciation for your works. Please refer to me now as Mabuhay, an aspiring-to-be-lively Undead Warlock in the Uldum server. I have to tell you how truly wonderful your stories are, not only in content but how you have organized them to be very meaningful within every subtle detail you can add. Your story... ahem, *epic* writing prowess is my source of inspiration whenever I get that creative urge to make my own epic. I have told you that the last of Series One made a tear fall, yet this new series made multiple ones form and fall. I thought the trio would forever be changed to a duo (Equinox and Marvah), yet Quatermass, whom I thought was a traitor in every aspect even on his return, joined the couple once again, which made me eat my words (or thoughts, if you may).

It is too bad, though, that you cannot go on writing yet another series of worthy glimpses in the trio's life and adventures. I guess all I can do now is to wish you luck and hopefully you will own the largest watermelon farm in Azeroth -- seedless ones even!

Your Friend and Fan,
Mabuhay

P.S. Send me watermelons if you do get a chance! Thank you!

----------

Dear Equinox and friends,

I've only known about your series since Blizzard put it on the spotlight. When I first saw your wonderful comics, I loved them and all of the joy they brought. Lately, during Sacrifices, I was having bad times. But after having a tough day, I would come home and look at your comics and be instantly cheered up. In short, your comics made my life and my friends' lives better. I'm sad that you are quitting Equinox and will miss his wonderful adventures. I hope with my friend's support that you will pile up all of the comics and extra features into a book. I really would love it, and it would brighten my day up along with all of my friends. If you made such a book, I would buy it without a moment's wait.

Thank you. Thank you so much. I loved your series and my life is better thanks to you.

Your admirable fans,
Jared R., Craig H., and Logan H.

----------

I just wanted to thank you for your story. I loved it, even found myself getting emotionally attached to Equinox, Marvah, and the rest. To be honest, I almost cried when Garctic was executed. Really, this tale is one of the best I've come across, and best of all, it made me laugh! Good luck with all your future endovors, and thanks again. ^_^

Best Wishes,
Yawgmothx

Equinox: Defender of the Horde has ended today, and it's sad to know. But it ended like the rest of Sacrifices was, emotional. It also had a bit of plain innocence which has to make you smile. Thank you for the magnificent stories which are Equinox: Defender of the Horde. I hope you have a great life.
Thank you, once again.

Best Regards,

You just finished one of the best stories I've ever read. Without doubt the best WoW story and I'd just like to say thank you. These stories have made me laugh, choke up, and somehow want to play WoW (Blizz should pay you). It really is a shame you're going away but I hold fervently onto hope that come Burning Crusade Equinox may pay a visit to Outland.

You have my respect as a writer (hehe come to think of it as I'm not famous probably doesn't count as much) and as a person. These rocked.

Thanks for the good times.

All hail The Defender of the Horde, The Fuzziest of the Fuzzies, Equinox.

Ivan D.H.

----------

Just wanted to congratulate you for completing the series. I was fearing for the worst, that the site would go dead in the halfway of the story. Like some webcomics I've read (but it didn't, YAY!). But I suppose this is the end for the Equinox series because the only thing left after this was the invasion to Northrend where Equie engages in battle with Arthas, right?

My favourite character was Dashett, I was a tad upset when he got smoked. Anyway. Thank you for a deep webcomic that was enjoyable to read.

Ragecleaver, scary undead rogue (GRRR!! *mean face*)

P.S. Equinox's victory over Onyxia was a pleasant supprise. =D

It's really sad to know the series has ended :-( But the ending's quality was good, like the rest of the series. Thank you for creating Equinox: Defender of the Horde. I hope you have a good life!

I am writing to you to thank you for the episodes you have written and taken the time to share with the WoW community. I have to say I'm not one to usually take the time to thank someone for such a task (in fact this will be a first). I have heard recently that you will be laying down the quill on this story. It has been a great pleasure to read what you've created, as your stories are one of the very few of many that I read that brings out much emotions. It has been a pleasure to have the chance to read what you've created. While I'm sad that this will be the end of the tale, I certainly understand. You have a truly great writing style and hope that this isn't the end of your writing all together as such a thing would be a great misfortune to all. Take care in all future endeavors and may you have many adventures yet to come.

"The Letter" makes for an excellent climatic moment and feels the most cinematic of any of your stories so far, even moreso than "Equinox: The Movie". Heck, I even found myself humming "Ashokan Farewell" (from the Ken Burns Civil War documentary) when reading Thrall's letter. You truly captured the essence of the great Orc Warchief and matched it perfectly to pictures (the burning snowcone lab was particularly brilliant in its execution). Equinox's armor set really sets the theme for the upcoming battle. Rather than wearing the old gray armor (which represents the moral ambiguity of Equinox's recent experiences), he dons the bright blue and gold templar armor, which aside from looking very heroic also seems to represent a type of moral clarity that Equinox now has after all of his struggles. What is most interesting though is that the Scourge army seems to be coming from Andorhal. While my rational side tells me that this is merely convenience for the Scourge from a strategic standpoint and for you from the standpoint of there being a surplus of Scourge to film there, my creative side (that is to say, the side that tries to believe all sorts of crazy stuff) has a different take. Andorhal (aside from being the birthplace of the plague in Lordaeron) was also where Quatermass, after the emotional stress of losing his parents to the Scourge (similar to what Equinox went though with Mr. Bolt recently), caved in to his grief and joined the Scourge. In a true character foil, it is fitting that this is where Equinox will conquer his grief and doubt and, unlike Quatermass, crush the Scourge beneath his well-polished hooves.

I am aware that Marvah believes Thrall has sent the beloved Defender of the Horde to his death. However, and this may be due to the fact that I relate to Orc Shamans from the Frostwolf Clan, I am certain Thrall did not. First of all, Equinox's existence in the future leads me to believe otherwise. The obvious aside, Equinox is Thrall's greatest warrior and would not be thrown away as cannon fodder. Next, if we look at Thrall's actions objectively, by saying nothing to Marvah when questioned, he not only doesn't lie to her (helpful for any possible arguments down the road), he also has his best healer making all possible haste to the front (more haste than Marvah would make if she thought Equinox would survive, imminent death seems to pump a lot of adrenaline and speed into people). All of the sudden, Thrall has sealed a gaping hole in his defense with the least number of troops possible. The Warchief once again proves his genius.

Now for the part where I slap myself on the head. I was completely wrong about Cata'clysm, he was just that well written. I had always thought of him as more of a team player (that team being Team Scourge *boo*) and believed he would use the crystals to complete his plague. But it does fit his character much better than he would selfishly use the crystals to enhance his own power. And now it makes much more sense that Cata'clysm would want Marvah's mana draining spell. In fact that entire conversation makes much more sense now. Cata'clysm offered Marvah a share of the crystals (not in those words) in exchange for that mana draining spell. I'm not sure what he would want with said mana-draining spell specifically, but it would give him a tremendous advantage in any fight against a major power; he could use his amplified magic to crush any non-magical folks and then drain the mana of those who could wield spells to oppose him.

*drumroll please* After promising that I'd never write any letters to any individuals of any sort for their work well-done, I finally relented when I stumbled upon your tales. The dedication you put into every single tapestry of words and vivid color is mindboggling! Your stories make me laugh, cry, and make my days a whole lot brighter. The life you put into your characters transforms them from their simple digital selves into real people (well, not exactly people, but ye get my drift, eh?).

Equinox: Three cheers for the Fuzziest of Fuzzies, Defender of the Horde, and the many titles that go along with this truly humorous and noble Tauren. Watermelon farming, ah yes, what I wonderful fruit, is it not? Marvah: A priestess like no other... when paired with Equinox, the two of you are quite a formidable pair. Your wit and intellect is astounding, keep up the fantabulous work, m'friend. And to the rainbow of characters I have yet to mention and all those that contributed to these stories, you should all give yourselves a hearty cheer and pies all 'round, you have turned the World of Warcraft into more than just a computer game. I am truly grateful for these stories... HUZZAH!

I'm a big fan of both Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, and even more so of these... could I call them comics? Stories, sounds better fitting. I wanted to read to the end of Series Two first, but I simply couldn't resist e-mailing you now. I want to thank you for sharing your wonderful words with the world -- proving both funny and dramatic, I have never seen such wonderful works. You have instantly become my favourite author, even though you have not officially written or published anything. Marvah's death at the end of Series One was so brillianty written. I just know that, when I loose someone, I shall look to that story for comfort. I am saddened to hear that you must finish writing them but thank you for writing them anyway.
-- Peter J. G.

Aug 10
I'm a big fan of Warcraft III, but I don't actually play World of Warcraft. However, despite my misgivings I found out that the Equinox comics are funny even if you only have a basic knowledge of World of Warcraft. In fact, as a fan of many comics, I would say that Equinox is like the Charlie Brown of Warcraft. It's Warcraft, so of course he's a warrior, but he's also a guy who never really knows what's going on and can't seem to get anything right. He's like Charlie Brown because we all identify with him but nobody wants to admit it.

While I wanted to wait until Series Two was completed before commenting on it... well it's simply too good to keep my mouth shut until then. First off, I have to say your storytelling methods have vastly improved since Series One. It's amazing how you keep it "Equinox" while the tone of the story has darkened and the dramatic strength has increased. While Series One had many of these strengths, they didn't really shine until towards the end. In Series Two, your strengths have only multipled. So much so I have to wonder if you do storytelling of this nature for a living or hobby or if you're just talented. Your final exchange with Varimathras in "Emissaries" is my new favorite shot. You also amazingly blend in almost whatever additions Blizzard throws in, from Blood Elves joining to the Qiraj and Scourge invasions. I can easily forget how disjointed Blizzard's changes appear to be when I read your work. If nothing else, I'm glad I picked up WoW just to be introduced to your material. Although you've said you won't do anymore after this, I hope you'll continue to nurture your storytelling skills in other ways. There's so many wonderful things I could comment on, but that would take an essay and until Series Two is finished, it wouldn't be appropriate. I look forward to the end of Sacrifices.

I've loved your stories, and I've read them for awhile... now I'm sad Dashett and Tayen died, along with Garctic. I seriously almost cried at the end of these... Don't kill off any more of the cool people please, or I seriously might cry.

There are lots of things I have read on the internet, stories written by fans of this or that. I started reading Equinox with a similar sort of dispassion, figuring it was a way to fill some spare time at work with a storyline that shared a common love of WoW. WoW may be the backdrop of these stories of yours, a connected experience we share, but you are writing a beautiful set of stories. Maybe, because of stress from work, my feelings are on an edge, but the ending (and subsequent death) of Marvah at the end of Series One brought me to tears. You have "connected" with what you wrote, and it was a compelling story. The current storyline is no different, what with the death of Dashett and Tayen. I found myself on the edge, and Equinox's sensitivity towards their death is likewise moving. I just wanted to say "Thank you" for writing these stories. If you never write another story in your life (which I think would be a great crime to humanity because you have a talent there), I'm thankful for the brief bit you have given to the world (and me).

Great work on Series Two... twas a shame that Dashett died. He was the best. Good to see Kodosaurus have a mention, seeing as he has to carry Equinox around every day (poor, poor kodo). I also decided to name my mount. My raptor's name is Zippy. Keep up the good work.
-- James B.

July 27
Great story. Funny, interesting, great characters, and I love how the story all comes together, how all of the characters re-appear and stuff. Anyway, great job, keep it up, and send my regards to Quartermass -- he has it rough.
-- Rakkezai, the Demoniest of the Demonies!

July 27
Using my advanced "Gnomish Translator Thingie-Ding" I can communicate with you Horde. I just wanted to say that these stories keep me busy during the rainy weather. (And the nights when the worgen come out to hunt.) I do hope the the fun times continue... well... umm... you know, the times when people AREN'T dying. Have a good year and don't let the worgen bite! (No, seriously, it hurts!)
-- Bernado Dragonfisk of Silverpine Forest (EU Argent Dawn server)

I'd like to chip in here before my drunken brother sends the letter, that I too enjoy a good read. I managed to get them from the mail before Bernado, so I don't read them with beer stains included!
-- Faran Dragonfisk

July 25
Equinox: Pure yet Fierce. Marvah: Beautiful and Strong. Quartermass: Villain or Hero? I love like bestest stories ever. No lie.
-- Drekk of the Redbeards (Shadow Council server)

July 23
I'm an avid reader of your stories. They give me moments of joy, anger, love and friendship; because of this I have re-read Equie's adventures more than once and now I'm writting this letter just to show you my satisfaction on the great job you've done. It's sad to hear that there will be no more adventures, but I can understand why. I don't believe I possess the ability to express in English just how pleased I am by reading your stories. All I can say is that I had loads of fun reading them and for that I Thank You.
-- João S.

July 22
Hey there! I am a long time reader of your stories and I just had a question that's been itching at me for quite some time. In Series Two: Sacrifices in the second episode ("Affliction"), Equie's growling is noticed by Marvah, and the shaman they see offers a number of reasons as to what it could be. I was just curious what it really is, since Marvah seems to think its something completely different than any of the shaman's diagnosis. I was just curious since I couldn't really figure out what the two were talking about. Thank you for putting so much effort in to this series, and thank you for your time.
-- Mike (aka Aslad)

MARVAH RESPONDS: Equie's growling isn't psychological (or physical on a superficial level). Our local shaman assumed -- correctly, if I can go by past experience -- that it's neurological in nature. I told Equie that there was nothing wrong with him because uncontrollable verbal or physical tics are no reason to think of one's self as "damaged" in any way. My Fuzzy is fine the way he is, growling and all.

July 18
Even as a member of the Forsaken, I too was shocked to see an ill Tauren in the laboratories for the first time. However, as I grew in prestige and power, I talked to the alchemist next to her and he confided in me, a fellow alchemist, that she is not being held against her will. Apparently, she was a patrol in Aszhara, where she was attacked by Naga. After fleeing for her life, she drank from the pools in the Bay of Storms, where she fell ill with the sickness you saw. I understand the confusion, and hope that a noble Tauren such as yourself will help clear up this misunderstanding between we, the Forsaken, and the rest of the heroic Horde. Rest assured that I myself traveled to Aszhara to obtain samples of this poisoned water as a quest, and the Undercity Apothecaries are working towards a solution as we speak.
-- Faquarl

MARVAH RESPONDS: I appreciate the conciliatory tone of your letter. However, while you sound sincere in your beliefs, I don't hold the same opinion of your fellow Forsaken. Whatever the specifics of Thersa Windsong's case, Chemist Cuely and the Royal Apothecary Society are more interested in discovering new plagues as they are in developing antidotes.

FAQUARL RESPONDS: I can understand why you are distrustful of my... alchemical associates. Certainly, Apothecary Keever's work with the Undercity's captured humans is less than a sterling example of how a true member of the Horde should act. And I don't deny that some quests I have undertaken under the command of my superiors are materials for designing a new plague. But please understand this: why do my fellow Forsaken create new plagues? We were once alive as you and Equinox. Death is so cold: to live in it is a torture. My friends in Death do not understand this agony as well as I do. They feel pain, then revert to a primal state in which all they understand is pain and wish to inflict upon others. Of course, this only starts a cycle where the living shun the dead, causing more sadness and pain. And that is where you can help. Please, as I have done as much as I can to help Thersa Windsong's, grant me this favor: see things from the perspective of the Forsaken. Thrall and his warriors helped your people defeat the murlocs and the Sea Witch who controlled them. Thrall helped your husband's tribe in gaining Mulgore for the Tauren people. Will you not show the same compassion he showed?

July 18
You guys are the greatest. I love your comics and stuff. Great job. Hope to see the next issues soon.
-- Kent H.

July 13
Just wanted to give you props for the great stories you've put down here. I have to admit, I think I will miss Equinox more than some of my favorite characters from full scale book series. Of course, if you decided to be tacky and return... again... That would solve my problem and surprise us all. Anyways, point = Fine work.
-- Craig S.

July 7
I just wanted to say "Thank you" for a wonderful comic! I read the first series a while ago, and I was really happy to see that you were making Sacrifices as well. It's a shame that this will be the last series, but of course, we can't expect you to continue making the comics when you really don't have time. I've re-read the first series and the episodes in the second one a number of times, and I laugh just as hard every time. So thank you very much for having taken the time (and still taking the time, until the end of Sacrifices), to make these comics. I know I'm not the only one who loves reading them. Oh, and at least one more thing... when my main was level 43, I took a long break from WoW. Great comics like this were what eventually got me to start playing the game again -- another thing which I'm grateful for, I might add. So once again (third time now, isn't it?) THANK YOU for taking the time to make this comic! I'll miss it, that's for sure.
-- Torrent (Myste on Arathor server)

July 5
I just thought you might like to hear that you are not the only ones who have found cross-species love! My name is Arcavia, Troll priestess, and my Fuzzy is Mooatarms, Tauren warrior extraordinaire! We have known each other for some time in our guild but only recently met in real life, and now we're happily dating! Hooray for Troll/Tauren love! We're both ardent Equinox fans, and I am quite sad that Sacrifices will be the last series! Thank you so much for writing this amazing story! If you ever stop by Hyjal, you will have a warm welcome in our home!
-- Arcavia, The Ides of March (Hyjal server)

July 5
These comics can be so depressing at times, until Equinox shows up! He can brighten up the most dimmest of hearts, his innocence and childish ways inspires me to be more childish, which is a heart that is sacred. To have humour amidst grimmest of the grimmies shows work of a brilliant writer.
-- Dragolath (Shadow Council server)

July 3
I just wanted to say a big "THANKS" for the comics. They're a great mixture of comedy and drama with buckets of character thrown in and always, always entertaining. You've managed to do so much with the characters through the simple combination of screenshots and dialogue.
-- Zarna (Shadow Council server)

July 3
I just wanted to thank you for doing these two series, as I imagine it would take a bit of time... A solid story line with a love interest, a fair bit of drama, heaps of danger, a big betrayal... sounds almost Shakespearean... I will be sad when I read the last one but I will stop by from time to time in the hopes that your are tacky and have time to do another one... You really have captured some of the issues that I have had to deal with when playing WoW but I can not rememebr them all. The one I do, since I just read Episode 14, is someone else getting the drop before I can and then I have to buy it at the AH for a stupid price. All the best and good luck to you and your team.
-- David L.

July 3
Equinox and Marvah -- I live under the ruling of the Shadow Council and have heard of you both from friends. One of those friends showed me your movie. I wasn't quite impressed with it. I heard that it was about real people, so I went on a search to find out more of the truth behind the movie. After hearing many stories that coincided well with each other, I must say you are both well deserving of praise and gratitude.

I have seen many things in my life and in my death. No, I am not a human that was caught by the plague. I am a Tauren that was raised by Sylvannas herself, because of my loving adoptive parents. That allowed me to live longer than any normal Tauren could without aging. And, I have seen a lot. In the stars that have passed I've seen men turn tail and run from battle. I've seen those stronger and more agile take down children. I've seen empires rise and fall in the blink of an eye. I've even seen the Horde and the Alliance put aside their fierce anger for each other and take up arms against a more dangerous and common threat. But in all that I have seen, I have never seen any who have kept their innocence. That is, of course, until I have heard of you two. Your tales of war are amazing. Victory in the face of betrayal is always something to hope for in legends. But the biggest feat that I have heard in these stories, is that you have not fallen into the darkness that grows thick around Azeroth. You've not killed Alliance just because you are Horde. You've not stabbed others in the back for personal gain. Yes, you both are people to look up to indeed. Many people fight in wars. Very few keep their souls in the process. I thank you.
-- Aliwa Du'Talik, The Moonkin of DOOM!

June 24
Very nice development with Cata'clysm, he's evolved into a much more malevolent force than I could have pictured. I had a feeling things would grow past mere snowcone abuse (remember kids, one snowcone is snowcone abuse). What I'm interested in is this new disease which inflicts Taurens, Equinox's disease, and the snowcone rise in Mulgore. And since Cata'clysm has easily linked the Scourge, the Burning Legion (Shadow Council) and a major drug cartel, Kalimdor can be in for yet another big surprise. The Spirit Shield spell is a brilliant plot device as I often wondered how Quatermass joined the Scourge yet retained free will and his physical form (i.e. the Scourge has a nasty habit of only using the skeleton/corpse/souless vessel of their members). These next few weeks will be interesting since the plot is taking increasingly bold steps.
-- Egoraptor

June 20
Why are you quitting? I mean, WHY, WHY, Whyyyyyyyyyy! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, I NEED MORE STORIES ABOUT EQUINOX, IT'S JUST LIKE READING HARRY POTTER OR 100% BETTER, OR LIKE CONSUMING SNOWCONES. PLEASE MAKE MORE SERIES. You should start thinking about writing a real book about Equinox stories, or a comic... just don't let Equinox die. You're a great writer. Love Equinox storyline.
-- Bledish (Burning Legion server)

June 19
May the Earth Mother look upon Equinox, Marvah, and Quartermass with everlasting love. (I love how you made up Silifuzz, that's the best! I use it all the time when we run AQ!)
-- Taseden (Lightning's Blade server)

June 16
I just wanted to say thank you for continuing to create a great story for us to enjoy during our free moments in life.
-- Chris (Deunan on Shadow Council server)

June 15
I just want send you a big "thank you" for your great stories about Equinox. Keep up the great work, mate.
-- Hakufu (EU Thunderhorn server)

June 14
I just wanted to say how very much I've enjoyed this tale; the people, the events, the twists and turns of Equinox's life, all have me hooked and feeling very lucky to have found such a wonderful story. I was sad when I saw that the showdown between Equie and Quartermass was to be the last chapter; and OVERJOYED when I found that the "tail" (really, sometimes I can't stop myself ) had continued. I am going to continue to read the next chapters with a mixture of happiness and sadness that the tale will, indeed, truly end this time. Equinox is one of the most profound Tauren I've ever read about: sad, honorable, and outright silly, all at the same time. And I am happy to know of him in this battle-ravaged world. And so, I leave you with this heartfelt title: "YOU are the Story-Telliest of the Story-Tellers!"
-- Kourin and SilentBob (Kilrogg server)

June 13
I just wanted to say, I love your series. It's a pity you'll be stopping after Sacrifices. Keep doing what you're doing for it, and after that... I hope you have a good life.
-- Lai-Ping C.

June 12
WOW! I just read the newest addition of the slide shows "Feinting". It is awesome. Now what is with all the Trolls? I want too see something new, something cool, something like a druid Tauren. I do not understand why no druids at all. I DO NOT CARE IF THEY ARE NIGHT ELF, JUST GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT: DRUIDS!
-- Qles

June 10
*Munch* *Chomp* *Chew* -- Oh hey Equinox, thanks for writing your adventures, and your scenes of munching, chomping, and chewing!
-- Daniel

June 9
Just wanted to say "Hi." I wandered in this little page on the internet that Equinox calls home. It's a wonderful story. Keep up the good work. The back of my mind says these stories would make a great kids book.
-- Raymond G.

June 7
I really enjoy your comic. It has been my favorite since I heard of it on the WoW community site. I would say it is better than Calvin and Hobbes and Foxtrot put together. It has even inspired me to make my own comic.
-- Eegrates

June 3
Really nice series this one. I'm really enjoying it! The first part (The Nifty) is really very good: fun, exiting, and at some times a little emotional as well. The second part (Sacrifices) is also really good, I just can't stand the waiting times between each part of it, though I guess that's necessary to make them as good as possible. Either way, keep up the good work! 'tis a really good series.
-- Sedrival (Earthen Ring server)

June 2
I love the stories, they've made playing Warcraft a lot funnier. Sad to hear this is the last series, but they're still awesome. Again, these are VERY great stories.
-- K.C. (Zul'jin server)

June 1
You have made the best of all the screenshot story things that I have ever read. I can not wait for more stories. They are hilarious except for the ones where Equinox's Mom dies or when he did not know she was dead and the sad ones too. If the rest of Series Two is as good as Series One, I will be impressed. So keep up the good work.
-- Qles

May 26
I'd like to say I'm a big fan of your comic. The characters are awesome and the story/plot is directed superbly and one can only love all the stuff you did. I think it's one of the highest forms of entertainment and art.

I have been reading your story ever since Equinox has been defending the Horde. I love this story and even though the date of the next comic is set, I still check every day.

I've been a fan of your Equinox comics for a few months now and I just saw the new slideshows. They look amazing, very well done. Keep up the great work!

I just got done reading "The Hunter". I gotta tell you, I was moved to tears. Equinox, it seems, is growing up. Thanks for your wonderful work.

May 7
Sacrifices is doing a great job of exposing the intricacies of your characters. Sacrifices is to The Nifty as The Frozen Throne was to Reign of Chaos in more ways than one. Aside from both being expansions of major stories, Sacrifices is focused on moral ambiguity like Frozen Throne, whereas The Nifty and Reign of Chaos dealt with clear good and evil. Consider this (from what little I've seen of your story so far), in Frozen Throne we constantly deal with gray areas -- such as Maiev's mad quest for Illidan, noble in purpose but taken to such an extreme measure that Maiev ends up becoming more evil than Illidan. Back in Reign of Chaos, it was very clear that Thrall and Cairne had the absolute right idea about leading the Horde, whereas Grom Hellscream was absolutely wrong. In Sacrifices we already have Marvah questioning when it is just to save someone and when it is cruel. In The Nifty, there was no doubt that everybody, even traitorous Quatermass and insidious Stormfront, deserved to be saved from death.
-- Egoraptor

May 7
Hi! It's a really nice work (and) all but... Sometimes I get a little irritated when you get it to sound like ALL Night Elves are bad (like in "Equinox Gets High" and that kind). Both the Alliance AND the Horde do some evil things. Do you really mean it when you say it's the alliance who is evil or is it just a part of the story? If you really mean it, your stories will anyway be the best of the bestiest.
-- Lasse H.L.

May 7
I have never seen you on WoW before, but I'd love to one day meet you and Marvah. This series is great, I hope more Night Elves as the series goes cause I can't stand their arrogance and weakness. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
-- Robert B.

May 7
Hey, I really like the stories you guys did, very entertaining and now that I know there is a second series coming I'll be happy for much more time. Thanks and keep up the great work.
-- Tyler B.

May 5
I must say your online stories are great and amazing, I find your humour orignal and hilarous and usually when I'm bored or feeling down I tend to go to your stories and cheer myself up. God knows how many times I've visited your site. Though I must say Marvah dying made me kinda sad and that's one post I barely visit -- makes me sad. But keep up the good work, I just wish I was on your server so I could help out some way.
-- Daniel L.

May 5
I love the stories, I've read them so many times that I know what comics pages have my favorite quotes. I'm sure you must be sick of fan mail, being so great you must get a lot of it. Thanks for taking time to read this, I hope for more stories in the future, such a unique style. Making a comic inside a game, I would have never thought of it, I applaud you.
-- Kyo, 8th most furry Tauren in Azeroth

May 3
Just like to say that this is one of the funniest web comics based on WoW I've read, keep up the good work.
-- Tyler B.

May 2
Hey, love your stories! So funny, especially when you get distracted of thinking of a reason for the Druid Hamuul and came up with meeting a dinosaur and it could talk. Haha, funny stuff, can't wait to see the next one, keep up the good work.
-- Ayren

Apr 30
Greetings Equinox and Marvah! Just a note from one of your biggest fans and her friends who are also your biggest fans. We're extremely happy that you're giving us more stories to read and can't wait to see this new series! And I also have to say thank you both for being so nice all the time. I know you must be bombarded with people talking and waving to you all the time, yet you always circle back and come wave or cheer (once Equinox was even afk when I cheered, but he sent me a tell later and cheered me back). You guys are what makes the game so interesting and fun.
-- Zeyia

Just thought I would send you an message saying I love the comic and I'm really enjoying the second series. Looking forward to seeing what happens next, keep up the great work.

I'm so glad I can continue to share in the adventures of "The Defender of the Horde". Cheers to "the furriest of the furries".
-- Malasangre

Apr 11
I've been reading your stories since day one... or was it two? None the less, they're always great and put a smile on my face. If there was such as thing as "The Award For Best Comical, Furry, Defender of the Horde Tauren" I'm pretty sure I know who'd get it. You should also know that you've very popular over here on the European servers.
-- Bernado (Argent Dawn server)

Apr 11
WOW, I can already tell that Series Two will be to read, I can't wait till you bring out more episodes for my eyes to gaze upon! Equinox is a hero even on other servers. I was talking to a friend who didn't even play World Of Warcraft, and after showing him the Equinox comics he is thinking about playing! Thanks, oh Great Defender of the Horde!
-- Taseden and Mercedes (Lightning's Blade server)

Apr 5
You guys have really done an amazing job of telling a simple, funny, and often times poignant story. You've made me laugh and quite honestly have brought a tear to my eye. You've also introduced us to fun new phrases -- like "HO HO!", which my group of friends always greet each other with or use to acknowledge someone's clever remark -- not to mention we've run amok with "furriest of the furries" and say things like "goofiest of the goofies", "danciest of the dancies". I've also been known to run across the bridge in TB and just say "Ho Ho!" all to myself, because it makes me happy. Thank you all for creating this! Special thanks to Marvah -- when my little group spots her and we gawk while somehow managing to stare at our collective feet until someone gets brave enough to wave, Marvah ALWAYS waves back. She could have just run by and on my group screen you see "It's MARVAH!" "Where?" "Just ran by" /wave Marvah -- she'll always make time to run back and wave -- it doesn't matter which alt we have up, Alliance or Horde -- Marvah is truly the definition of the Friendliest of the Friendlies.
-- Beth (Elorra on Shadow Council server)

Great stuff there. Equinox has provided me with many hours of enjoyment, and reading the stories at work has enlivened many a dull day. There's very little that can't be made better by a few guffaws at my favorite Tauren hero. Can't wait for more.
-- Aishen (Thoium Brotherhood server)

Mar 31
Love the stories... took some time to translate... being a human paladin and all, but my grandmother's uncle was a Tauren so I read a little of the language. Look forward to more.

I read your story a while ago when it was posted on the forums. I stayed up the entire night to read the entire story. It was so moving and lovely. I recently found the link to your site again and I just want to say, thanks for telling this story and making me happy.
-- Phyrexian

Mar 15
The very storyline of The Nifty is very heartwarming and made me laugh. The end was a bit sad but that was awesome as well. It's amazing how a simple video game can be used to make something with this level of depth.
-- Ragecleaver

Mar 6
Love the stories. Can't wait for Series Two!

I recently sat down and read your comic. I was completely enthralled throughout the entire story. I want to thank you for the wonderful tale you told, it has made my WoW experience a better one. Can't wait for Sacrifices!
-- Toast (Dragonblight server)

Mar 4
I simply LOVE all the series you have made! First time I read this, I was completely concentrated on it. They never failed to give a little chuckle every time, although the time when Marvah goes away makes me sad... so sad... especially the lines you put along with it. Overall great job!
-- Jude C.

Mar 2
My favorites are mainly the "Mom" stories because of how emotionally touching they are (not to mention funny -- the neighbour's my favorite extra) and "Equinox: The Movie" which was a nice culmination of all your progressive work in the series thus far. Those are my favorites as far as individual episodes go. The bulk of it I find work together well as a single entity and so can't really pick an individual part I really liked. As far as individual shots go I would have to say my favorite shot of all is where Equinox is in front of that huge Silithid hive shouting "Scourge?" That's just classic.
-- Gendai

Feb 27
Ever since the Community Spotlight of Equinox the Nifty, I have not been able to find anyone who so truly embodies the World of Warcraft than Equinox. With a brilliant storyline and well-placed humor you have allowed insight into what life could truly be like for those characters of Azeroth. On a closing note I would like to add that many people see World of Warcraft as being the game in the Warcraft series without a story but I disagree. Perhaps it was left to us as characters to continue the story as Equinox so greatly does.
-- Lonerogue (Frostmane server)

Feb 24
I've been a big fan of Equie's since the stories were first featured on the Community Spotlight.

They've had me bursting out into both laughter and tears. You have my deepest thanks for sharing them with the world. Please pass my regards onto Marvah and Quartermass as well. I eagerly await any adventures the future may bring you.
