I found out about the Equinox comics a while ago
when WoW.com started posting
your latest additions. I went back and read all of them from start to
finish, and it has easily become my favourite series.

I've been a fan of Equinox's adventures for some
time (since around the
time Graves started, I
believe), and even after it ended, I would
occasionally come back and re-read the archives to relive the story and
characters I love so much. I'm really glad you decided to bring Equinox
back for some more adventures in Northrend, which I'm also loving so
far. Keep up the great work!
-- Sairan (Celaryn, Greymane server)

At first I wasn't
sure whether I was gonna like the
stories as screenshot stories usually aren't that well done, but as I
kept reading more and more... Equinox grew on me. His pureness and how
life really is on Azeroth really hits the heart hard, complete with
Quatermass' betrayal, dealing with death and coping with getting
older... bittersweet is his life in entirety. While he led a rough
life, he led a good one. Have to say, you are a master of storytelling.
Honestly I wish I could tell a well thought out and emotional story as
the one that you have created.

I'd like to thank
you for providing me with one of
the better Sundays of recent memory as I looked through your stories
about Equinox. Really, they are the best Warcraft
fan fiction I have come
across. Equinox is just... priceless and endearing to a fault.

I've never liked WoW
comics based on in-game screen
shots very much, until I read your series. IMO this is one of the best
ones on the web, and the story is very well done. The rise and fall of
tension in the plot is really well thought out. Thank you for providing
me with hours of fun, while I try and sneak some WoW
playing time while I'm at work.

Oh hail Great
Defender of the Horde. Wondering
the plains I’ve found your lifeless body lying on the ground.
I
recognized who you where, as I’ve come across stories about
you
and Marvah, so as a last tribune I’ve transported your body
back
to Thunder Bluff. On my way to your last resting place I was followed
by a caravan of people and animals that wanted to pay their last
respects to you. It was a nice and sad ceremony. You will be
missed.
Inspired
by your actions, I’m now
preparing myself to join the assault against Arthas. I swear to you we
will get him down. FOR THE HORDE! FOR EQUINOX! May
you rest
in peace my friend.

I remember having
written you before to express my
love of Equinox, but that was for Series 1 and 2. I just finished 3
(long overdue it would seem) and wanted to thank you again for such a
unique and enriching story. The end brought a tear to my eye, and
wrapped things up quite well. That all said, my thanks for creating and
providing this to all of us WoW
players/fans on the net. I'm truly appreciative, as I'm sure most
readers are.

All hail the
Mightiest Defender of the Horde! Just
wrote to tell I love your Equinox stories. I pop in from time to time

them. Love your work.

Hello! I have been reading since early 2005. I really enjoyed your
work. Sometimes I even go to the places Marvah and Equinox died and
Quartermass's grave to pray to show my respects to such noble heroes.
When I had a bad day at school or work, I came home and your stories
made my day a little better. Thank you for the time you spent
developing and sharing these awesome works of art for us all to enjoy!

Just wanted to write and say how much I appreciate the effort and work
you put into the series. I play on Shadow Council myself and am really
tempted to roll a Horde character now due to your stories. Great finish
to the series, I can’t think of a better way to have ended
the
tale. Thanks again.

I wanted to email you after finishing the Graves
series
today. I've been following the comic for the last year or so
-- arriving late while Sacrifices
was still in production and reading on from there.
It's been a fun ride, and I am not sad to say I spent my lunch
half-hour reading the last chapters. I am sad that our imaginary
friends have gone on to other places, but I am not too proud to say I
sniffled at work at the close of "Farewell to the Fuzzy". Thank you
very much for making this and sharing it with us.

Thank you all for sharing your talent, your time and your energy by
putting together such a wonderful and well-crafted story.
You’ve made us laugh and cry over the last two and a half
years
and I know I’m not alone in saying that you will all be
sorely
missed -- by the WoW
community and by we lucky few on the Shadow Council server.
Thank you all for giving us this great story! Thank you for all the
times you all have waved as you were passing by! Thank you for your wit
and kind words! Thank you for letting us sit on the side and watch when
we’ve stumbled across you filming! And thank you for the
personal
trailers with the pies and seedless watermelon… oh wait.
It’s hard to say goodbye to people as amazing as the three of
you. I wish you all the best. (… and here I thought saying
goodbye to
Kodosaurus
was hard.)
-- Typheria
Nov 27
Thank you for sharing the adventures of Equinox, Marvah, and the entire
cast. Few things have ever been so able to move me to both
laughter and tears. While it saddens me that the Fuzzy's adventures
have come to a close, the final chapter was nothing short of beautiful.
I hope you continue to write, as you are very adept at it.
-- Tim S.
Nov 27
As happened once before, you have thoroughly disappointed me as no
other could. Of course, you achieved this by making me love something,
and then taking it away. How could you! More importantly, thank you for
this excellent work that I’ve enjoyed for quite some time,
and
kudos to you on a great job done. I hope that maybe you will prove the
liar, AGAIN, and take up a series four some time in the future, but if
not, all I ask is the site never goes down..
-- Craig S.
Nov 27
First of all, I'd like to say that these series are the best of the
best. In all aspects,
this is truly a great work of art, and it is a shame that it has to
end. It is also quite disappointing that Equie and Marvah aren't able
to produce offspring to carry on the storyline.
But nonetheless, Equinox's life stories have tickled my emotions.
Rarely do I get spontaneous tears from reading stories, but the last
few chapters of Equinox's life has really touched my heart. It's too
bad that Equinox and Marvah, who are given Tauren burials,
have
no graves I could visit in the world of Azeroth. For the very least I
have clues to where Xanadu's (I have a really bad tongue when it comes
to speaking Troll) grave is located.
Now on a more personal note, I'd like to express my deepest thanks for
sharing Equinox with the rest of the world. I agree with that other
letter saying you should pursue a career with this. Or you could just
continue on with this as a hobby. Either way, do as you wish, and I
wish you the best of luck on all of your future endeavors.
-- Jude C. (Mabuhay of Uldum)
Nov 26
I have just read the final episode of Graves
and would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone concerned
with the making of all three series. Absolutely marvellous doesn't
really cover it but it's the best I can think of. I'm already missing
Equie and Co. The best of luck to all of you in whatever project you
decide on next. Many thanks for all the laughs and tears.
-- Moabraxus (EU Nordrassil server)
Nov 26
I'm sure multiple people have already asked, though I'd like to bring
it up to encourage you to post something about it. Even if you
do
something that has nothing to do with WoW,
it would be
great to know about it as you're a very talented story writer. Thanks
for sharing Equinox with us all.
-- Cassandra
Nov 25
I liked the ending. Although most of us knew that Equinox was going to
die and his last days as a senile tauren with the same childlike spirit
was actually tragic, the end makes one glad that the Warcraft
Philosophy of Dying for Heroes comes into play. Ultimately the ending
turned out to be rather happy with a positive tone. It's nice that
ultimately Equinox and Marvah can now live together peacefully without
the need for adventuring or such. It was sad to see Quatermass/Xana'du
die at the end and the relationship between him and Equie was sort of
touching (something akin to a big brother protecting the little sibling
from the dangers of the world). Still it was a good run. It would have
been interesting to see Equinox's adventures in Northrend, but that
would be asking a bit too much, I guess. Still as many people have
stated, thanks for the story...
-- Hans L.
Nov 24
I just wanted to say that the last episode was very touching. Nice job.
I am hoping you do more stories in the future!
-- Izbit
Nov 24
Since midway through the first series I have waited attentively for
your fabulous episodes. And now sadly it has all come to an end. Over
the years, your humor had me wiping
tears from my eyes all while trying to breath. There were moments when
the tragic scenes had the same effect (especially the end of the 2nd
part) and I just wanted to say thanks, thanks on behalf of me, my
friends, and family who laugh, cried and cheered for Equinox, Marvah
and Xana'du throughout that period. It was a great medium through which
to tell your story and I am impressed quite frankly on how you
delivered. Even though Equinox has passed away after missing his chance
to do something great for the Horde again and reunited with Marvah in
the second world I must beg you to do another series of some sort,
maybe Celeste had a second child (Equinox's lost brother perhaps?) or
just pick someone else entirely, but in the end it isn't my call and
respect your decision (after all, there is such thing as "too much of a
good thing").
-- Sebaz (Archimonde server) and Cryozen (Aggramar server)
Nov 24
I just finished reading your magnificent story-in-pictures, and I am
not lying in the slightest when I say I was absolutely awed by what you
did. The action, the drama, the humor... everything about it was dealt
with in such magnificent skill and talent. I would without hesitation
declare this the best bit of WoW
fanworks ever. And yes, I am not ashamed to admit that the ending was
so poignant and touching that I was left in tears. Thank you for such a
marvelous story.
-- Joshua H.
Nov 24
Unfortunately, I had discovered Equie just a week before the last
chapter. Went through all the seasons, and was just simply amazed and
shocked at how original/well written it is. I'm currently passing the
chapters to my friends, which are just as shocked as I was when I began
to get into the story. You really are a unique talent in the
fan-fiction community, I hope you continue, someway or the other, to
create such memorable stories.
-- Rolanthas (EU Ravenholdt server)
Nov 24
Just wanted to say thanks for everything you guys brought with the
Equinox stories. In terms of your ability to keep a reader
poised
at the edge of a seat, make us laugh until our insides hurt, or bust
open the waterworks, you're geniuses. I was glad to have helped with
them in what ways I could, but mostly I am glad to play on the same
server as you guys, to have known you, and the chances to chat with you.
I would love to see Equinox and Co. around when the shores of Northrend
are opened for business, especially since there may or may not be a
Tauren death knight wandering the world soon after that
happens. I have to confess to a slightly morbid curiosity on what would
happen if Equinox crossed paths with that particular race/class
combination. I imagine it would make for something
interesting. ;)
Thanks again for the efforts and frustrations to bring us all a very
healthy dose of laughs, tears, and cheers. We appreciate it
all. You certainly have proven that you don't need to be in an
uber-raiding guild or have a high PvP rating to be considered 'Elite'.
-- Waltz
Nov 24
Thank you Equinox, Marvah, and Xana'du. Thank you for creating and
sharing a truly amazing story with us over the past two years. We've

You have five very big fans in Marlinton, WV. I'm 35. My daughter is 11
and her three friends are 13, 12, and 5 years old. We've made a point
to read every new episode as they come out. We all play WoW
of course. But the sense of humor, heroism, innocence, and just
emotional content in your stories is just great, regardless of the
setting. Good JOB! You've made us all cry a few times now. All five of
us will always remember Equinox, Marvah, and Quatermass.
Sincere thanks and congratulations for such a wonderful job,
-- Si
P.S.
Me and the kids always

kids are crazy about creating dramatic screen shots so they really love
to think about how you might have created certain effects.

I really loved the new series, just finished reading the last two
episodes with tears in my eyes (firstly because Xana'du died, and then
because, well, everyone died). As I mentioned in my earlier letters,
Xana'du/Quatermass has always
been my favorite. I missed him in the last scene, but assumed he was
somewhere "living" happily with his parents. Again, thank you for
making me laugh and cry.

I have read every
single
story in you series. The last one "Farewell to

about two months ago. I can't believe you're not continuing, but I
guess you can't now that Equinox is dead. But I wish he was still
alive. I have also read through your timeline. I just love everything
about it.
Greatest thanks from Ben. An eager Equinox fan from Australia (yet I
play on European servers since I lived in Denmark when I bought the
game). But if you ever play in Europe be sure to watch for a paladin
named Zchlade (Alliance) because that's me :))

I read this series when it was three quarters of the way through the
first season, and I've loved it ever since. Your storywriting abilities
are mind-blowing, and I'd suggest you try and take it up as a serious
career assuming you haven't yet. Even though it's an online game, you
still manage to make people muster affection for your characters. Your
abilities can make them see past that. This goes to your cast and crew
as well: Over the course of the series you've all worked brilliantly. I
wish you'd keep it up but Graves
appears to be the end of it. Good luck to all of you.

Long time reader, First time writer. I highly enjoy the comic. I find
it highly entertaining and emotional. I have seen in your timeline that
you have already illustrated the later days of the
cast. Presumably since Wrath
of the Lich King
is not out, "filming" on Northrend is not too much of an option. Still,
it'll be interesting to see your vision displayed as the story heads
into the climax.

Something has been nagging at me since Equinox learned he could
communicate with the fuzzies. Can Equinox chat with a druid in
shapeshift form? Just wondering because my main is a druid and I
thought that would be nifty.

MARVAH
RESPONDS:
Equie's power is a strange side effect of the neurological damage he's
suffered. (That's why Malfurion referred to him gaining it "through
non-magical means".) Therefore, he is unable to speak with the
magically-induced druid forms.
Oct

I've been reading your comic for quite a while now and it just keeps
getting better and better. One thing is bugging me though: We've never
seen Marvah's eyes, and so it is difficult to really judge her
mood/feelings. It would make a great ending for the series to see her
eyes -- specially because the four main eye types in WoW
are: stone cold, hate-filled, stoic/knowledgeable/old, and
compassionate. I have a feeling/idea on how the series is going to end,
but in the end you might surprise me. Besides, showing Marvah's eyes
could be a great way to express her perception on the world she helped
her whole life.
Love your work,

Your new series, it's awesome! Love the storyline, as always. And since
you broke out from using only the in-game speech bubbles, I really
thought that gave you more flexibility with how you fashion dialogue,
and therefore, can focus more on acting (and ease of shooting too!).
I'm really expecting a lot of great things from this series, and so
far, my expectations have been met. One last thing: all of you should
keep on rockin'! ;)

It is I, your loyal fan... Well, ugh... Loyal Fan #156! Anyway, I've

my own power -- I too can speak to other creatures. Or, well...
Inanimate Objects, Mugs of Ale to be precise! Yes, get a few kegs of
Thunderbew in my gut and I can understand the language of Ale. I am
indeed the pinnacle of Pyrewood Village! So you and I are much alike...

I just finished reading Series

beautiful and creative as these stories. I've really grown fond of all
the characters -- Marvah, Quatermass, and of course Equinox -- as I've
read, and I look forward to the third series with great anticipation.
Your narratives are compelling and you have an amazing talent for
choosing just the right screenshots to tell your story. I've been so

I've been following the Equinox adventure story ever since the very
first episode. I think you did a fantastic job in making the
two
series. I laughed and cried (well, I cried inside since I am a
dude) with each new episode. The plot is intriguing, filled
with
twists and turns, good character development and superb pacing of the
storyline. I was saddened when you announced Sacrifices
will be the end of the Equinox series. I feel that unlike most
of
the Hollywood movies, Equinox's story is the one that need more
sequels. Now I see our beloved Defender of the Horde might pick up his
sword again and come back to action, I just can't wait. So
please,
don't just tease us, do it for your legion of fans; and most important,
do it for Equinox, he is too young to retire just yet (heck, even Rocky
came back).

I was going to write a long, eloquent-sounding letter to express how
much I appreciate the story that you've taken me and the rest of your

This is my very first fan-mail of any kind. I first saw a link to your
stories in the forums of my guild. The first thing that caught my eye
was the name of the main character. Equinox is also a guildleader in my
Alliance guild. A Night Elf (the irony). So, I started reading your
stories. And I was surprised at how immensely clever the humor was, and
the characters were so... alive. And then, as I read on, the stories
became more serious, and yet had that wonderful humor I was getting
addicted to. The twists in the stories, the sadness, the betrayal, the
redemption. It was all so wonderfully written and portrayed.
Considering the limited tools you had at your disposal to
create
such a wonderful "comic" I am extremely impressed with it.
You have made the last two days (Yes, I came late to the wonder that
was Equinox) of my life a jumble of laughter, sadness, anger and even a
tearful moment. You deserve a prize of some sort. Some kind of real
acknowledgment. If I can find some way of creating a Real Life token of
appreciation, I will. I can't really think of much more to say without
this becoming a meaningless babble, but I must say one thing, just once
more: You have made two of my days an adventure indeed!

You people have a wonderful gift and I am truly thankful that you saw
fit to share it with us all in bringing us Equinox:
The Nifty
and Equinox: Sacrifices.
I first stumbled across the series, as I am sure many others did, when
it was advertised on WoW's
Community Spotlight. It hasn't been until now that I felt moved to
write to you. I must say that I was very delighted with the Sacrifices
episode "The Emissaries". Particularly with the scene where Equinox
discovers the poor unfortunate Tauren in the Apothecary Quarter of
Undercity. I wanted to lay the smackdown on that Forsaken "doctor" a
few times myself.
I'm extremely happy that Equinox has finally become that which he
always sought to be, the Defender of the Horde. But I am also saddened
that this seems to mark the end of his adventures.
It was good to see that Quatermass began the long arduous road to
redemption, never an easy thing to do.
All in all, I think a heartfelt "Hurrah!" is in order for the three of
you. May you never fall to the Scourge!

I have NEVER read a comic or story that has evoked happiness,
excitement, dismay and sadness in me, quite often I'm considered a more
or less emotionless git. But your comic was something new, something
good. And I'm proud to have read it; hell I don't even know you but I'm
proud of you for making it. I realise the Story of Equinox has come to
a close, more or less, but I sincerely hope you have something else on
the horizon, comic or otherwise, because I'm sure as hell eager to read
it.

I recently stumbled across this amazing comic by accident (i.e. I found
a link to it on the WoW-Europe
site), but it caught my attention right from the start. I began reading
it, and right from the very first story I was hooked on it. I read
through all the stories in two days. I just LOVE the characters,
especially Equie of course. :) I admire his loyalty, simplicity, good
heart... everything about him. The story has made me sad, happy, laugh,
cry, and really FEEL with the characters. That's why I was especially
sad to read that you might not do any more stories. The stories of
Equie and his friends are quite simply put the BEST WoW
stories I've ever seen! I really hope, with all of my heart, that you
guys will continue to write more about the amazing adventures of
Equinox and his friends. Your stories have really inspired me, and made
it even more fun to play the wonderful game of WoW.
I hope this isn't the last we'll see of Equinox, Marvah and Quatermass.
Love you all!

I had to write to say I had just finished reading both series after
finding them by accident, but one of the happiest and most rewarding
accidents ever.
As
soon as I realised how
much I enjoyed
reading a few parts of "Equinox Gets Stranded" I had to start over from
the very beginning. At first I was all grins and chuckles (yes I found
myself going "Ho ho" once or twice since) at just how a wonderfully
humerous and good person Equinox is. Then I was moved by his simple
dedication and loyalty. And in the end I felt so sad for him and again
happy too that he finaly found his place, acceptance, and love, among
those he would never once think to abandon. Something we can all dream
and hope for.
I'm
new to the ways of the
Tauren, slowly
climbing the long ladder as a Druid, and sometimes the obstacles before
me seem overwhelming... But now when I feel I can't go on, I can turn
to Equinox's own adventures and look to him as inspiration. He would
never give up.
I
shared my find with
someone close to me
(a "Scrunchy" of my own), who often joins me and helps me on my path as
a Tauren too. I'm glad I did for she too has enjoyed the stories as
much as I.
Equinox
made me smile, made
me laugh out
loud, made me empathize and feel, and made me cry. I wish you all lots
of joy and wonder, may your melons never come with seeds.

Late
September (after the end of Sacrifices)
Dear
Equinox, Marvah, and
Quatermass,
I've
been reading Equinox:
Defender of the Horde since its
mention on the WoW
Web site. Thank you for taking the time and energy to weave two
wonderful stories that were suspenseful, touching, hilarious, and
poignant in turns. The characters were so well developed, and every
single one of them "grew" immensely throughout the course of the two
series. I'm an editor (nonfiction), and although writing fiction isn't
my forte, I found myself inspired by your stories. So I decided to do
something of my own.
Thank
you for all the good
reading and the inspiration. I wish you the best of luck -- and plenty
of seedless watermelon!

I
just wanted to tell you
that Equinox is
quite possibly the most depressing comic I've ever read in my life. I
can't even tell you how many times you've made me cry. As such, its
also quite possibly the best comic I've ever read. I love all the
characters so much and have been a huge fan ever since the day it got
recommended on the World of
Warcraft website.

----------
I
have been wanting to write
you for a while. I first joined Equinox on his adventures when the World
of Warcraft
linked it the first time. I was hooked right away. You have an amazing
gift for storytelling. I hope you continue to use your creativity in
some way and offer it to all of us in the future.
Thank
you for everything,

Like
many others, I had a
series of mixed
emotions when I read the finale of your series. There's a certain
satisfied joy to see how things have ended up for our beloved Equinox
and his lovely bride Marvah. Even grumpy ole Quartermass (I mean
Xana'du). I was nothing but floored by the care, thought, and effort
you all went through to get the shots for your series and can
understand the emotional drain that would come with such precision.
Nonetheless, I have a selfish side of me that hopes that some how, some
way, we'll see more of Equinox and his adventures in the future.
Regardless, I occasionally am privileged enough to run in a pug with
you on Shadow Council and that always makes me smile. And I never run
around Thunder Bluff without saying "Ho Ho!" to myself.
Thank
you for sharing your
imagination with us!

I
just wanted to express my
appreciation
again for your wonderful stories and RP on Shadow Council. I have read
the Tales of Equinox from his beginnings and laughed and cried through
them all. My dearest treasure is a note I have stored in my bank from
Equinox (as delivered by the Postmaster) thanking me for my
congratulations when Equinox reached Level 60.
You
have a great talent. I

Greetings
Equinox,
Your
tale was a great one,
as the rest of
your days shall be. Believe me. I'm a druid. I got a vision from the
hippie-drugs and everything. Not the point!
Good
luck in your defense of
the Horde,
and of all Tauren. Know that your tale will be retold, to any who will
listen, to the young and old alike. Your battles, for a short time, are
over. Now is a time of peace! A time for children, perhaps.
Ignoring
the biological
issues involved
in mating with a troll... Considering your past, I think you should
adopt. You and your wife would be good parents, I think...
Haha,
look at me rambling.
What was to be a simple thank you has turned into an advice letter.
Good
luck, Defender of the
Horde. You helped us even when the right choice wasn't clear.
Hopefully
you will take it
easy on Arthas.

Figures,
right? Before Sacrifices
was finished, I couldn't wait to comment on it. Now that it is, I'm not
entirely certain what to say. Not only are you a good writer, your
ability to combine your story with images is astounding. To add to
that, your images have been well made from the start and only got
better all the way up until the end.
I
also admire your
dedication and tenacity at getting it done, despite the various
difficulties. I'm amazed your fellow WoW
players on Shadow Council were so cooperative in assisting you, even
going so far as to swap guilds when shots required it. I have to extend
my admiration to all those people who assisted you, especially Marvah
and Quatermass. Not only am I astounded that you all worked together to
contribute to the project, but that you did so wonderfully.
Congratulations to all of you for a job well done.
Sacrifices
was undoubtably darker than The
Nifty,
yet you retained the sweetness and charm that originally made Equinox
great. The only noticable change was done during the course of The
Nifty.
Perhaps that's what I like about him the most. Even as the story grew
darker, even with a not-so-wonderful childhood, he remains quite cheery
and optimistic and even innocent despite all that's thrown at him. If
there's one kind of character
I admire it's those who continue to fight for what's really good in
life and in people despite all of the pain and suffering that can exist
around us. The fact he remains lovable and good at heart in the face of
adversity I think makes him one of the strongest heroes I've seen in
Azeroth.
I'm
glad I had the
opportunity to enjoy
your work. I hope the site remains open for some time to come and
others can have that same opportunity.

It

From nearly choking on whatever I may be eating at the moment to

Hi
there. I'm a World
of Warcraft player. And even
when I wasn't playing WoW
I was still reading your comics. What can I say about them? Let's start
with the humour: You made me laugh ALWAYS, with no exception, with
every single little thing Equie said. About the story, I have to admit
I didn't expect such an intricate storyline for Sacrifices,
or for the first series for that matter. In the second series, you made
me laugh and feel sad almost at the same time, and I loved the comics,
being barely able to wait for each to come out.
All
in all, thank you for
creating this
wonderful thing. Every time I read it, it made my day, and it will
still do so after I read it again.

Hello
Equie, this is Jude C.
once again,
wrote to you once on March 4th, now I am writing yet another letter of
appreciation for your works. Please refer to me now as Mabuhay, an
aspiring-to-be-lively Undead Warlock in the Uldum server. I have to
tell you how truly wonderful your stories are, not only in content but
how you have organized them to be very meaningful within every subtle
detail you can add. Your story... ahem, *epic* writing prowess is my
source of inspiration whenever I get that creative urge to make my own
epic. I have told you that the last of Series
One
made a tear
fall, yet this new series made multiple ones form and fall. I thought
the trio would forever be changed to a duo (Equinox and Marvah), yet
Quatermass, whom I thought was a traitor in every aspect even on his
return, joined the couple once again, which made me eat my words (or
thoughts, if you may).
It
is too bad, though, that
you cannot go
on writing yet another series of worthy glimpses in the trio's life and
adventures. I guess all I can do now is to wish you luck and hopefully
you will own the largest watermelon farm in Azeroth -- seedless ones
even!
Your
Friend and Fan,
Mabuhay
P.S.
Send me watermelons if
you do get a chance! Thank you!

Dear
Equinox and friends,
I've
only known about your
series since
Blizzard put it on the spotlight. When I first saw your wonderful
comics, I loved them and all of the joy they brought. Lately, during Sacrifices,
I was having bad times. But after having a tough day, I would come home
and look at your comics and be instantly cheered up. In short, your
comics made my life and my friends' lives better. I'm sad that you are
quitting Equinox and will miss his wonderful adventures. I hope with my
friend's support that you will pile up all of the comics and extra
features into a book. I really would love it, and it would brighten my
day up along with all of my friends. If you made such a book, I would
buy it without a moment's wait.
Thank
you. Thank you so
much. I loved your series and my life is better thanks to you.

Just

completing the series. I was fearing for the worst, that the site would
go dead in the halfway of the story. Like some webcomics I've read (but

because the only thing left after this was the invasion to Northrend

I am writing to you to thank you for the episodes you have written and

It has been a pleasure to have the chance to read what you've created.
While I'm sad that this will be the end of the tale, I certainly
understand. You have a truly great writing style and hope that this

great misfortune to all. Take care in all future endeavors and may you

"The Letter" makes for an excellent climatic moment and feels the most
cinematic of any of your stories so far, even moreso than "Equinox: The
Movie". Heck, I even found myself humming "Ashokan Farewell" (from the
Ken Burns Civil War
documentary) when reading Thrall's letter. You truly captured the
essence of the great Orc Warchief and matched it perfectly to pictures
(the burning snowcone lab was particularly brilliant in its execution).
Equinox's armor set really sets the theme for the upcoming battle.
Rather than wearing the old gray armor (which represents the moral
ambiguity of Equinox's recent experiences), he dons the bright blue and
gold templar armor, which aside from looking very heroic also seems to
represent a type of moral clarity that Equinox now has after all of his
struggles. What is most interesting though is that the Scourge army
seems to be coming from Andorhal. While my rational side tells me that
this is merely convenience for the Scourge from a strategic standpoint
and for you from the standpoint of there being a surplus of Scourge to
film there, my creative side (that is to say, the side that tries to
believe all sorts of crazy stuff) has a different take. Andorhal (aside
from being the birthplace of the plague in Lordaeron) was also where
Quatermass, after the emotional stress of losing his parents to the
Scourge (similar to what Equinox went though with Mr. Bolt recently),
caved in to his grief and joined the Scourge. In a true character foil,
it is fitting that this is where Equinox will conquer his grief and
doubt and, unlike Quatermass, crush the Scourge beneath his
well-polished hooves.
I
am aware that Marvah
believes Thrall
has sent the beloved Defender of the Horde to his death. However, and
this may be due to the fact that I relate to Orc Shamans from the
Frostwolf Clan, I am certain Thrall did not. First of all, Equinox's
existence in the future leads me to believe otherwise. The obvious
aside, Equinox is Thrall's greatest warrior and would not be thrown
away as cannon fodder. Next, if we look at Thrall's actions
objectively, by saying nothing to Marvah when questioned, he not only
doesn't lie to her (helpful for any possible arguments down the road),
he also has his best healer making all possible haste to the front
(more haste than Marvah would make if she thought Equinox would
survive, imminent death seems to pump a lot of adrenaline and speed
into people). All of the sudden, Thrall has sealed a gaping hole in his
defense with the least number of troops possible. The Warchief once
again proves his genius.
Now
for the part where I
slap myself on
the head. I was completely wrong about Cata'clysm, he was just that
well written. I had always thought of him as more of a team player
(that team being Team Scourge *boo*) and believed he would use the
crystals to complete his plague. But it does fit his character much
better than he would selfishly use the crystals to enhance his own
power. And now it makes much more sense that Cata'clysm would want
Marvah's mana draining spell. In fact that entire conversation makes
much more sense now. Cata'clysm offered Marvah a share of the crystals
(not in those words) in exchange for that mana draining spell. I'm not
sure what he would want with said mana-draining spell specifically, but
it would give him a tremendous advantage in any fight against a major
power; he could use his amplified magic to crush any non-magical folks
and then drain the mana of those who could wield spells to oppose him.

*drumroll please* After promising that I'd never write any letters to
any individuals of any sort for their work well-done, I finally
relented when I stumbled upon your tales. The dedication you put into
every single tapestry of words and vivid color is mindboggling! Your
stories make me laugh, cry, and make my days a whole lot brighter. The
life you put into your characters transforms them from their simple
digital selves into real people (well, not exactly people, but ye get
my drift, eh?).
Equinox:
Three cheers for
the Fuzziest of
Fuzzies, Defender of the Horde, and the many titles that go along with
this truly humorous and noble Tauren. Watermelon farming, ah yes, what
I wonderful fruit, is it not? Marvah: A priestess like no other... when
paired with Equinox, the two of you are quite a formidable pair. Your
wit and intellect is astounding, keep up the fantabulous work,
m'friend. And to the rainbow of characters I have yet to mention and
all those that contributed to these stories, you should all give
yourselves a hearty cheer and pies all 'round, you have turned the World
of Warcraft into more than just
a computer game. I am truly
grateful for these stories... HUZZAH!

I'm a big fan of both Warcraft
III and World
of Warcraft, and even more so
of these... could I call them
comics? Stories, sounds better fitting. I wanted to read to the end of Series
Two
first, but I simply couldn't resist e-mailing you now. I want to thank
you for sharing your wonderful words with the world -- proving both
funny and dramatic, I have never seen such wonderful works. You have
instantly become my favourite author, even though you have not
officially written or published anything. Marvah's death at the end of Series
One
was so brillianty written. I just know that, when I loose someone, I
shall look to that story for comfort. I am saddened to hear that you
must finish writing them but thank you for writing them anyway.

I'm a big fan of Warcraft III,
but I don't
actually play World of
Warcraft. However, despite
my misgivings I found out that the Equinox comics are funny even if you
only have a basic knowledge of World
of Warcraft.
In fact, as a fan of many comics, I would say that Equinox is like the
Charlie Brown of Warcraft.
It's Warcraft,
so of course he's a warrior, but he's also a guy who never really knows
what's going on and can't seem to get anything right. He's like Charlie
Brown because we all identify with him but nobody wants to admit it.

While I wanted to wait until Series
Two was
completed before commenting on it... well it's simply too good to keep
my mouth shut until then. First off, I have to say your storytelling
methods have vastly improved since Series
One.
It's amazing
how you keep it "Equinox" while the tone of the story has darkened and
the dramatic strength has increased. While Series
One
had many of these strengths, they didn't really shine until towards the
end. In Series Two,
your strengths have only multipled. So much so I have to wonder if you
do storytelling of this nature for a living or hobby or if you're just
talented. Your final exchange with Varimathras in "Emissaries" is my
new favorite shot. You also amazingly blend in almost whatever
additions Blizzard throws in, from Blood Elves joining to the Qiraj and
Scourge invasions. I can easily forget how disjointed Blizzard's
changes appear to be when I read your work. If nothing else, I'm glad I
picked up WoW
just to be introduced to your
material.
Although you've said you won't do anymore after this, I hope you'll
continue to nurture your storytelling skills in other ways. There's so
many wonderful things I could comment on, but that would take an essay
and until Series Two
is finished, it wouldn't be
appropriate. I look forward to the end of Sacrifices.

I've loved your stories, and I've read them for awhile... now I'm sad

There are lots of things I have read on the internet, stories written
by fans of this or that. I started reading Equinox with a similar sort
of dispassion, figuring it was a way to fill some spare time at work
with a storyline that shared a common love of WoW. WoW
may be the backdrop of these stories of yours, a connected experience
we share, but you are writing a beautiful set of stories. Maybe,
because of stress from work, my feelings are on an edge, but the ending
(and subsequent death) of Marvah at the end of Series
One
brought me to tears. You have "connected" with what you wrote, and it
was a compelling story. The current storyline is no different, what
with the death of Dashett and Tayen. I found myself on the edge, and
Equinox's sensitivity towards their death is likewise moving. I just
wanted to say "Thank you" for writing these stories. If you never write
another story in your life (which I think would be a great crime to
humanity because you have a talent there), I'm thankful for the brief
bit you have given to the world (and me).

twas a shame that

I'm an avid reader of your stories. They give me moments of joy, anger,
love and friendship; because of this I have re-read Equie's adventures
more than once and now I'm writting this letter just to show you my
satisfaction on the great job you've done. It's sad to hear that there
will be no more adventures, but I can understand why. I don't believe I
possess the ability to express in English just how pleased I am by
reading your stories. All I can say is that I had loads of fun reading
them and for that I Thank You.
-- João S.
July
22
Hey there! I am a long time reader of your stories and I just had a
question that's been itching at me for quite some time. In Series
Two: Sacrifices
in the second episode ("Affliction"), Equie's growling is noticed by
Marvah, and the shaman they see offers a number of reasons as to what
it could be. I was just curious what it really is, since Marvah seems
to think its something completely different than any of the shaman's
diagnosis. I was just curious since I couldn't really figure out what
the two were talking about. Thank you for putting so much effort in to
this series, and thank you for your time.
-- Mike (aka Aslad)
MARVAH
RESPONDS: Equie's
growling isn't psychological (or physical on a superficial level). Our
local shaman assumed -- correctly, if I can go by past experience --
that it's neurological in nature. I told Equie that there was nothing
wrong with him because uncontrollable verbal or physical tics are no
reason to think of one's self as "damaged" in any way. My Fuzzy is fine
the way he is, growling and all.

Even as a member of the Forsaken, I too was shocked to see an ill
Tauren in the laboratories for the first time. However, as I grew in
prestige and power, I talked to the alchemist next to her and he
confided in me, a fellow alchemist, that she is not being held against
her will. Apparently, she was a patrol in Aszhara, where she was
attacked by Naga. After fleeing for her life, she drank from the pools
in the Bay of Storms, where she fell ill with the sickness you saw. I
understand the confusion, and hope that a noble Tauren such as yourself
will help clear up this misunderstanding between we, the Forsaken, and
the rest of the heroic Horde. Rest assured that I myself traveled to
Aszhara to obtain samples of this poisoned water as a quest, and the
Undercity Apothecaries are working towards a solution as we speak.
-- Faquarl
MARVAH
RESPONDS: I
appreciate the conciliatory tone of your letter. However, while you
sound sincere in your beliefs, I don't hold the same opinion of your
fellow Forsaken. Whatever the specifics of Thersa Windsong's case,
Chemist Cuely and the Royal Apothecary Society are more interested in
discovering new plagues as they are in developing antidotes.
FAQUARL
RESPONDS: I can
understand why you are distrustful of my... alchemical associates.
Certainly, Apothecary Keever's work with the Undercity's captured
humans is less than a sterling example of how a true member of the
Horde should act. And I don't deny that some quests I have undertaken
under the command of my superiors are materials for designing a new
plague. But please understand this: why do my fellow Forsaken create
new plagues? We were once alive as you and Equinox. Death is so cold:
to live in it is a torture. My friends in Death do not understand this
agony as well as I do. They feel pain, then revert to a primal state in
which all they understand is pain and wish to inflict upon others. Of
course, this only starts a cycle where the living shun the dead,
causing more sadness and pain. And that is where you can help. Please,
as I have done as much as I can to help Thersa Windsong's, grant me
this favor: see things from the perspective of the Forsaken. Thrall and
his warriors helped your people defeat the murlocs and the Sea Witch
who controlled them. Thrall helped your husband's tribe in gaining
Mulgore for the Tauren people. Will you not show the same compassion he
showed?

I just wanted to say "Thank you" for a wonderful comic! I read the
first series a while ago, and I was really happy to see that you were
making Sacrifices
as well. It's a shame that this will be the last series, but of course,
we can't expect you to continue making the comics when you really don't
have time. I've re-read the first series and the episodes in the second
one a number of times, and I laugh just as hard every time. So thank
you very much for having taken the time (and still taking the time,
until the end of Sacrifices),
to make these
comics. I know
I'm not the only one who loves reading them. Oh, and at least one more
thing... when my main was level 43, I took a long break from WoW.
Great comics like this were what eventually got me to start playing the
game again -- another thing which I'm grateful for, I might add. So
once again (third time now, isn't it?) THANK YOU for taking the time to
make this comic! I'll miss it, that's for sure.

These comics can be so depressing at times, until Equinox shows up! He

I just wanted to thank you for doing these two series, as I imagine it
would take a bit of time... A solid story line with a love interest, a
fair bit of drama, heaps of danger, a big betrayal... sounds almost
Shakespearean... I will be sad when I read the last one but I will stop
by from time to time in the hopes that your are tacky and have time to
do another one... You really have captured some of the issues that I
have had to deal with when playing WoW
but I can not rememebr them all. The one I do, since I just read
Episode 14, is someone else getting the drop before I can and then I
have to buy it at the AH for a stupid price. All the best and good luck
to you and your team.

Equinox and Marvah -- I live under the ruling of the Shadow Council and
have heard of you both from friends. One of those friends showed me
your movie. I wasn't quite impressed with it. I heard that it was about
real people, so I went on a search to find out more of the truth behind
the movie. After hearing many stories that coincided well with each
other, I must say you are both well deserving of praise and gratitude.
I
have seen many things in
my life and in
my death. No, I am not a human that was caught by the plague. I am a
Tauren that was raised by Sylvannas herself, because of my loving
adoptive parents. That allowed me to live longer than any normal Tauren
could without aging. And, I have seen a lot. In the stars that have
passed I've seen men turn tail and run from battle. I've seen those
stronger and more agile take down children. I've seen empires rise and
fall in the blink of an eye. I've even seen the Horde and the Alliance
put aside their fierce anger for each other and take up arms against a
more dangerous and common threat. But in all that I have seen, I have
never seen any who have kept their innocence. That is, of course, until
I have heard of you two. Your tales of war are amazing. Victory in the
face of betrayal is always something to hope for in legends. But the
biggest feat that I have heard in these stories, is that you have not
fallen into the darkness that grows thick around Azeroth. You've not
killed Alliance just because you are Horde. You've not stabbed others
in the back for personal gain. Yes, you both are people to look up to
indeed. Many people fight in wars. Very few keep their souls in the
process. I thank you.

Very nice development with Cata'clysm, he's evolved into a much more
malevolent force than I could have pictured. I had a feeling things
would grow past mere snowcone abuse (remember kids, one snowcone is
snowcone abuse). What I'm interested in is this new disease which
inflicts Taurens, Equinox's disease, and the snowcone rise in Mulgore.
And since Cata'clysm has easily linked the Scourge, the Burning Legion
(Shadow Council) and a major drug cartel, Kalimdor can be in for yet
another big surprise. The Spirit Shield spell is a brilliant plot
device as I often wondered how Quatermass joined the Scourge yet
retained free will and his physical form (i.e. the Scourge has a nasty
habit of only using the skeleton/corpse/souless vessel of their
members). These next few weeks will be interesting since the plot is
taking increasingly bold steps.

I just wanted to say how very much I've enjoyed this tale; the people,
the events, the twists and turns of Equinox's life, all have me hooked
and feeling very lucky to have found such a wonderful story. I was sad
when I saw that the showdown between Equie and Quartermass was to be
the last chapter; and OVERJOYED when I found that the "tail" (really,
sometimes I can't stop myself ) had continued. I am going to
continue to read the next chapters with a mixture of happiness and
sadness that the tale will, indeed, truly end this time. Equinox is one
of the most profound Tauren I've ever read about: sad, honorable, and
outright silly, all at the same time. And I am happy to know of him in
this battle-ravaged world. And so, I leave you with this heartfelt

Sacrifices
is doing a great job of
exposing the intricacies of your characters. Sacrifices
is to The Nifty
as The Frozen Throne
was to Reign of Chaos
in more ways than one.
Aside from both being expansions of major stories, Sacrifices
is focused on moral ambiguity like Frozen
Throne,
whereas The Nifty
and Reign of Chaos
dealt with clear good and evil. Consider this (from what little I've
seen of your story so far), in Frozen
Throne
we constantly deal with gray areas -- such as Maiev's mad quest for
Illidan, noble in purpose but taken to such an extreme measure that
Maiev ends up becoming more evil than Illidan. Back in Reign
of Chaos,
it was very clear that Thrall and Cairne had the absolute right idea
about leading the Horde, whereas Grom Hellscream was absolutely wrong.
In Sacrifices
we already have Marvah questioning
when it is just to save someone and when it is cruel. In The
Nifty, there was no doubt that
everybody, even traitorous
Quatermass and insidious Stormfront, deserved to be saved from death.

Hi! It's a really nice work (and) all but... Sometimes I get a little
irritated when you get it to sound like ALL Night Elves are bad (like
in "Equinox Gets High" and that kind). Both the Alliance AND the Horde
do some evil things. Do you really mean it when you say it's the
alliance who is evil or is it just a part of the story? If you really
mean it, your stories will anyway be the best of the bestiest.

You guys have really done an amazing job of telling a simple, funny,
and often times poignant story. You've made me laugh and quite honestly
have brought a tear to my eye. You've also introduced us to fun new
phrases -- like "HO HO!", which my group of friends always greet each
other with or use to acknowledge someone's clever remark -- not to
mention we've run amok with "furriest of the furries" and say things
like "goofiest of the goofies", "danciest of the dancies". I've also
been known to run across the bridge in TB and just say "Ho Ho!" all to
myself, because it makes me happy. Thank you all for creating this!
Special thanks to Marvah -- when my little group spots her and we gawk
while somehow managing to stare at our collective feet until someone
gets brave enough to wave, Marvah ALWAYS waves back. She could have
just run by and on my group screen you see "It's MARVAH!" "Where?"
"Just ran by" /wave Marvah -- she'll always make time to run back and
wave -- it doesn't matter which alt we have up, Alliance or Horde --
Marvah is truly the definition of the Friendliest of the Friendlies.

Great stuff there. Equinox has provided me with many hours of
enjoyment, and reading the stories at work has enlivened many a dull
day. There's very little that can't be made better by a few guffaws at
my favorite Tauren hero. Can't wait for more.

Love the stories... took some time to translate... being a human
paladin and all, but my grandmother's uncle was a Tauren so I read a
little of the language. Look forward to more.

Thank you so much for creating this story, I would have never imagined
that something so simple as this game could have been manipulated into
an amazing story! Thank you for putting a smile on my face, and
bringing a heartwarming feeling to myself.

I read your story a while ago when it was posted on the forums. I
stayed up the entire night to read the entire story. It was so moving
and lovely. I recently found the link to your site again and I just
want to say, thanks for telling this story and making me happy.

The very storyline of The
Nifty is very
heartwarming and made me laugh. The end was a bit sad but that was
awesome as well. It's amazing how a simple video game can be used to
make something with this level of depth.

I recently sat down and read your comic. I was completely enthralled
throughout the entire story. I want to thank you for the wonderful tale

I simply LOVE all the series you have made! First time I read this, I
was completely concentrated on it. They never failed to give a little
chuckle every time, although the time when Marvah goes away makes me
sad... so sad... especially the lines you put along with it. Overall
great job!

My favorites are mainly the "Mom" stories because of how emotionally
touching they are (not to mention funny -- the neighbour's my favorite
extra) and "Equinox: The Movie" which was a nice culmination of all
your progressive work in the series thus far. Those are my favorites as
far as individual episodes go. The bulk of it I find work together well
as a single entity and so can't really pick an individual part I really
liked. As far as individual shots go I would have to say my favorite
shot of all is where Equinox is in front of that huge Silithid hive
shouting "Scourge?" That's just classic.

Ever since the Community Spotlight of Equinox the Nifty, I have not
been able to find anyone who so truly embodies the World
of
Warcraft
than Equinox. With a brilliant storyline and well-placed humor you have
allowed insight into what life could truly be like for those characters
of Azeroth. On a closing note I would like to add that many people see World
of Warcraft as being the game
in the Warcraft
series without a story but I disagree. Perhaps it was left to us as
characters to continue the story as Equinox so greatly does.

Your stories entail brilliant screenshots, teamwork, character and plot
development, knowledge of WoW
lore, humor, and even heartfelt wisdom on everything from relationships
to enduring dreams. They've had me bursting out into both laughter and
tears. You have my deepest thanks for sharing them with the world.
Please pass my regards onto Marvah and Quartermass as well. I eagerly
await any adventures the future may bring you.

Just a quick greeting and a thank you for such a well-done work on
Equinox's life. I could swear I've run into you before, but then I
don't play on your server. :P Many of the stories were hilarious, and a
few even moved me to tears -- you have a great flair for writing, my
friend. Keep up the excellent work!
